2 ! Global Control and Eradication Strategy (GCES) adopted during the FAO/OIE International Conference, Abidjan 31 March 2 April 2015! Specific Objectives: Background! The eradication of PPR by 2030! Reinforcing Veterinary Services! Improving animal health globally by reducing the impact of other major infectious diseases of SR The GCES was developed by the FAO/OIE PPR Working Group in collaboration with key partners and FAO/OIE decentralized offices. The handover to the PPR Secretariat took place early March 2016.

5 PPR-GCEP and the SDGs PPR Work contributes to at least 5 SDGs: SDG 1: End of poverty in all its forms everywhere SDG 2: End hunger, achieve food security and improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture SDG 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages SDG 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls SDG 8: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all
