TYPE OF GASIFIERS : These Gasifiers are designed for Woody Biomass. The systems are capable of continuous duty and offered in Hot Gas, Scrubbed Gas and Ultra Clean Gas Modes depending upon the use of Gas. High conversion efficiency from woody biomass to gaseous fuel, well above 85 % in Hot Gas Mode, 75 % in Scrubbed Gas (Cold) and Ultra Clean Gas Modes. The essential characteristics of Down Draft Design being used in OM ENERGY Gasifiers is that the tars given off in the pyrolysis zone are drawn through the combustion zone, where they will be broken down or burned. When this happens, the energy of tar contain is usefully recovered and mixture of gases in the exit stream is relatively clean. TYPICAL ZONES IN GASIFIER : Om Energy gasifier is a thermochemical catalytic converter / Reactor where various physical & Chemical reactions takes place. Biomass (Woody Materials) is passed through various zones i.e. Drying / Distillation Zone, Pyrolysis Zone, Combustion zone and Reduction Zone. When the biomass is passed through all the above zones, it gets converted into a high quality combustible gas called Producer Gas which is a low calorific low pressure gas that can be combusted for low cost heat. 3 QUALITY AND SIZE OF WOODY MATERIALS : The Moisture content should be less than 15 % by wet basis. Size : Minimum 1 mm dia x 15 mm Length Maximum 75 mm dia x 50 mm length Or equivalent square or Rectangular or Hexagonal or any shapes. All the petroleum products and LPG / NG are scarce in the World and hence price increases day by day. In the contrary, woody materials (Wood Barks / Branches, Trims of 1 Dia to 3 Dia and saw mill waste wood) are produced more and more and hence price usually remain steady. Do we need to have expert labour for operation and maintenance of OM ENERGY Biomass Gasifier System? Ans. NO. The operation and Maintenance is very simple and your existing technicians / labours can be easily trained during installation / commissioning of Gasifier within 7 days. Q.. Whether a NOC from Pollution Control Board is required for setting OM ENERGY Biomass Gasifier? Ans. NO. In fact this is under Govt. Promotional Scheme, for reduction of GHG emission, reduction in import bill towards petroleum products, increasing profitability of industry and ultimately lowering cost of products to people. Q.3. Does this plant generate any pollution? Ans. NO. This does not cause any pollution. In fact it is Eco-friendly and reduces the Green House Gas Emission, Acid Rain, etc., and is eligible for Carbon Credit benefits under Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). Q.4. What is the savings or the payback period of investment towards the gasification system? Ans. As a thumb rule 3.5 to 4.5 Kg of woody biomass replaces 1 Kg of fossil fuels or LPG / PNG. The price of fossil fuels or gaseous fuels are very high and also increasing day by day. The payback period is generally 4 to 9 months depending upon the capacity of the plant, running hours per day and the price of biomass available. (The comparative calculations is given above.) Q.5. What will be the position of forest trees if we all installing the gasifiers? Ans. We need only tree barks, branches & Trims of thin size i.e. 1 dia to 3 dia. and not the thick size tree Trunk or root and hence does not creates any damage to forest trees. Once the barks and branches are cut down, the new barks and branches grows. The packing waste, saw mill waste waste plywood and any type of solid waste can be used in this gasification plant.

6 INVERTED DOWNDRAFT GASIFIER STOVE FOR Residential And Commercial Cooking Application TERI have developed a very small gasifier meant to act on an efficient cook stove, called the inverted downdraft turbo-stove gasifier. The stove has a high efficiency - of the order of 30 % to 35 %. The gasifier chamber is removable and therefore, could be emptied to save the resultant charcoal, reloaded with biomass, relighted and re-inserted into the heat column. The wood gas camp stove with battery - powered fan (Where the A.C. Power is not available continuously) and the ability to produce an impressive flame for sustained periods with forced air design.
