Part B - Fire Safety Yes - the m10 recessed downlight has been tested by a third party and approved testing facility achieving compliance for installations requiring 30 minutes / 60 minutes / 90 minutes levels of protection. Part C - Moisture Protection Yes - the m10 recessed downlight has been third party tested achieving compliance for installations in a wet environment where protection of an unvented ceiling void is required to provide long term protection of the building fabric. Part E - Acoustic Standard Yes - the m10 recessed downlight has been tested to provide compliance in the prevention of excessive sound passing from one space to an adjacent space in compliance with current legislation. HOW IS 40,000 HOURS LAMP LIFE CALCULATED? CAN I TRUST THIS CLAIM? The m10 recessed downlight is innovative in design, having an on-board driver without the need for a capacitor - which is the weakest part of the circuit. It is this DOB (Driver-On-Board) combined with the use of CrystalCool technology which maintains the thermal management properties. The resulting effect of both technologies working together within the market leading m10 fire rated downlight alongside the HVLED results in the proven efficient fitting operating well within optimum temperature parameters. L2A / L2B COMPLIANCE WHAT DOES IT MEAN? These building regulations refer to new or existing, non-domestic buildings, office, industrial and storage spaces (where office also includes those areas that involve predominantly desk based tasks, such as seminar rooms, conference and classrooms including those in schools). Other areas would include hotels, bars etc. CAN I INSTALL m10 IN MY BATHROOM? The m10 recessed downlight offers an ideal solution for a bathroom, having an ingress protection of IP65 and also being Part C compliant, preventing moisture being transferred from the bathroom to the cold void space above. IF I REMOVE THE BEZEL, DOES m10 STILL PROVIDE THE SAME FIRE PROTECTION? No, the bezel must be fitted to the fitting in order for it to be compliant with the current Building Regulations Part B in respect of Fire Safety.
