It als exists t develp and maintain standards and cmpliance prgrammes natinwide as well as prviding cunsel and advice t PGW and cntractrs. The rle wuld als assist the Executive in the assurance f the sustainability f the business thrugh regularly auditing and measuring ur perfrmance t ensure we are meeting ur wn standards and legislative bligatins in a timely manner. Key Accuntabilities Primary Tasks Strategic Planning and Implementatin Review, develp, implement and mnitr an effective Health and Safety Strategic Plan that is aligned t the PGW Strategic Plan and directly addresses the challenges and cntext f the functin Prvide directin t supprt business unit wnership f health and safety strategic and annual perating plans ensuring risk and hazard management plans are in line with grup plicy in rder that health and safety bjectives are achieved and risk is minimised acrss the Grup Cnsistently evaluate prgress and effectiveness f prpsed strategies and alter t imprve apprach and maximise ptential Lead the business perfrmance and grwth f PGW s health and safety strategy and culture Effectively manage health and safety resurce t drive business value and utcmes aligned t the strategy Health and Safety Leadership and Educatin Mdel best practice health and safety leadership by ensuring specialist and strategic advice, practical guidance and supprt is available t the Executive Team, Managers and the Bard (when required) Practively demnstrate visible cmmitment t health and safety leadership Champin health and safety leadership and build strng wrking relatinships with all key stakehlders, cntractrs, suppliers and emplyees and drive step change in PGW s perfrmance Manage relatinships with WrkSafe, WrkAn, ACC and ther external stakehlders Ensure PGW maintains the highest pssible health and safety accreditatin Ensure delivery f frums n majr health and safety perfrmance risks and pprtunities fr peratinal management, building capability and cmpetence and identifying pprtunities t lead cultural imprvement Actively lead by example and represent PGW in industry frums n health and safety matters, where applicable Oversight f the Grup s health and safety cmpliance related training prgramme Actively participate in Natinal and Business Unit related frums t ensure currency in knwledge f trends and issues Page 2

3 Cmmunicate trends and issues t health and safety partners and devise / alter strategy t ensure alignment Auditing, Risk and Incident Management Manage a prgramme f health and safety audits, that includes scheduled and unscheduled audits, acrss sites reviewing against the requirements f legislatin, cmpany guidelines and safety management plans Oversee the identificatin and mitigatin f hazards and the reprting and investigatin f incidents; mnitr the implementatin f actins arising frm investigatins t ensure their cmpletin within agreed timeframes; ensure wrkplace safety imprvement initiatives are identified and delivered, leading t imprvements in safety perfrmance Ensure that emergency management plans are in place acrss all sites; emplyees are trained t the required level and understand their rles; plans are functinally tested and reviewed regularly thrugh management f emergency exercises Oversight f the investigatin f serius incidents carrying ut subsequent review r changes t the relevant Site Safety Management Plans. Oversee the review f all high cnsequence events including the injury management, restring cntrl f the site, scping the investigatin, reviewing the investigatin and rganising audit f imprvement cntrls Review health and safety perfrmance including significant incident investigatins, near misses and review crrective actins Review all external and internal health and safety audit results and crrective actins. Recmmend and lead imprvements in audit and incident investigatin prcesses Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) Maintain an up-t-date knwledge f applicable regulatry requirements, including legislatin, natinal and internatinal standards and cdes f practice, and ensure that these are integrated int PGW s HSMS Oversight f site HSMS in line with PGW s grup requirements, ensuring that business unit and site management are cached and mentred in the implementatin and delivery f desired results Prvide expert advice in defining a perfrmance gap analysis and assist site management t develp perfrmance imprvement plans t achieve a rbust silient HSMS Manage the effective use f the Incident Reprting database and manage, mnitr and analyse safety perfrmance infrmatin - trending results; identifying and ensuring delivery f health and safety interventin prgrammes; reviewing risk assessments undertaken and prviding feedback t line management and the Executive Team Page 3

4 Ensure relevant changes in legislatin, regulatins and cdes f practice are understd and lead change where required Reprting & Perfrmance Measurement Ensure grup wide health and safety reprting is develped and put in place t ensure accurate infrmatin is at hand t allw cntinued management and visibility f PGW s health and safety perfrmance Annually review, develp and mnitr measurable lead and lag indicatrs fr PGW Reprt n mnthly Grup health and safety perfrmance and strategic plans via Executive Team and Bard papers ensuring the business understands and takes wnership fr their lead and lag indicatrs and results Prduce and mnitr an annual budget and subsequent supprting business plan Health and Wellness Lead a quality external ccupatinal health service in supprt f injury preventin, management and rehabilitatin prgrammes t prmte emplyee health and wellbeing thrugh: annual health planning health and rehabilitatin standards pre-emplyment screening annual surveillance medicals prmtin and implementatin f wellness prgrammes. Ensure systems and practices are cnsistent with PGW s bligatins under the ACC Partnership Prgramme Peple Management Implement Human Resurce plicies, prcedures and prjects including emplyment prcesses & dcumentatin, Health and Safety and Learning and Develpment Ensure the Managing fr Perfrmance prcess is implemented acrss the team, with agreed bjectives, behaviurs and persnal develpment plans. Caching and Feedback is prvided and annual perfrmance reviews are carried ut each year within the required time frame Remuneratin strategy and/r recmmendatins agreed and put in place t ensure best practice and perfrmance by area, taking int accunt specific needs Regularly evaluate the effectiveness f emplyees and prvide caching and feedback. Any perfrmance issues arising frm these evaluatins will be recgnised, mnitred, addressed and reslved Identify key talent and establish develpment and successin plans Recgnise and manage team s training and/r prfessinal develpment needs - utilising training Page 4
