2 2 GENERAL High End Cyclic Corrosion Test facility with SO2 gas dosing facility and Controls capable of simulating Salt/chemical Fog, Water Fog, Dry Off, Direct Solution Spray in Electrolyte, Gas Injection, Controllable Variable Humidity, Controllable Variable High Temperature, seawater acidified test (SWAAT), salt spray & drying and any combination of these tests conditions. The instrument shall meet International Cyclic Corrosion Test Standards viz. ASTM B117, NF C , BS EN Parts 2,3,4&6, DIN 50018, IEC , IEC , ASTM D1735, ASTM D2247, ASTM G85 Annex A4, EN ISO 3231, HD , ISO9227, DIN EN ISO and VDA-test (DIN 5002). Equipment should be able to fulfil Cyclic Corrosion Testing for Aerial bunched Cable accessories, any metal accessories, Metals, coatings, paints, plastics reinforced with metal inserts etc. The detailed specification is described below. 3 Exposure Volume Capacity Should be of size min 300l to max 600l (l-liters) 4 Sample rack Slotted sample racks to accommodate a payload for 3D samples ranging 80kg to 100kg. Sample Rack should be Corrosion proof rack to hold material and component specimens of size 300x300mmx2 to 5 mm thick,50cmx50cmx30cm and 1mx10cmx10cm respectively, with easily accessible and mountable arrangement for sample holders. 3 5 Entry ports Two entry ports of diameter 35mm to 60mm and 110mm to 130mm shall be provided as a feature. 6 Salt Solution Reservoir Reinforced Plastic Chamber with min. 50litres to 100litres of salt solution reservoir. 7 Accessibility Easy Access in front/side/top to Controls of test chamber and service Components and fiberglass cover with clear window to view test conditions, Swivel Castors and Retractable Leveling Feet, In-line Filters for Salt Solution, Air Actuated Canopy/hood for automatic Lifting, Automatic Retracting Probe for Solenoid state RH Sensor 8 Loading Threshold Should be min.800mm to max.1000mm 9 Monitoring system A real time user configurable clock to enable different test samples to have their exposure time monitored separately and should indicate completion of test duration by alarm or any signal. 10 Insertion of external probes Provision for insertion of external probes for measuring temperature and relative humidity. 11 Fog dispersion Adjustable Fog Dispersion/spreading and external collection System is to be provided. 4 12 Humidifier/bubble tower/ air saturator There should be provision to fill manually water in humidifier /bubble tower/ air saturator, low water cut-off protection for air saturator with air relief valve/pressure transducer/safety valve for humidifier. 13 Display of chamber parameters Monitor/Gauge should Display the Bubble / Saturation tower temperature, Pneumatic pressure, Ambient temperature, Chamber temperature, ramp rate etc. Chamber shall have hour meter or counter for measurement of chamber utility. 14 Compressor with filter To dispense clean, dry & oil free air.emc and Noise emission shall be in accordance with EN & EN or equivalent National/International standards. 15 Water fog humidity Wet Bottom Drain Assembly; heater with auto fill for achieving higher & more uniform humidity. There should be provision for water fog humidity at RH between 95% to 100% and should be controllable and Automatic Cycling between Salt Fog, High Humidity, Dry-Off, Dwell & controlled humidity. 5 16 Chamber Temperature Chamber should have exposure Zone Temperature ambient to 70 C and Chamber should be built with necessary ports and built in Software System in order to have future up gradation possibility to attain -30 C exposure temperature using mechanical cooling system. 17 Interface port PLC/Microprocessor Based programmable Control with Full Color Touch Screen and provision of RS232/USB Interface Port with Software for data retrieval shall be provided. 18 Control of temperature & RH Control for accurate test chamber temperature with a variation not exceeding ±1deg.C, relative humidity not exceeding ±3% 19 Protection After cycle completion neutralizing and automatic purging of gases and the condensate solution is required. 20 Safety requirements Appropriate Cover to prevent dripping of condensation onto samples is to be provided, Dry seal gasket to prevent wetting and leakages Safety Sensors and cut/shut-off Protection i.e., for over temperature, humidity or other system failure. Requirement of environmental safety certification shall be specified. Safety of high standards should be adapted for electrical system. Page 5 of 9

6 21 Software Features Chamber shall be Programmable & Controllable. Program cycle shall have provision for setting the segments, loops, nos. of cycles etc. Chamber shall have software for programming the cycles as per user defined parameters with data recording also retrieving feature, portable using RS232/USB and should be possible to import to excel spread sheet without conversion to any data format. Pre-loaded Test Methods for Immediate Operation (no. will be specified at the time of placing PO) Display of Temp and RH Graphs on suitable Monitor 22 Display of Diagnostic Messages All controls and displays should be grouped at a place on a CPU with display features with appropriate Software, facing the front of the facility 23 Operating Climate conditions Temperature 10 C to 40 C and RH 10% to 95% 24 Power supply available 3F, 4 wire, 415V±10% fluctuation, 50 Hz 25 Literature Two set of user manual, installation, operating & maintenance manual and electric circuit diagram should be provided with the Facility. Preventive Maintenance procedure, checklist and schedule shall be parts of above documents Page 6 of 9

7 26 Calibration The facility should be calibrated for temperature, spray and humidity parameter for the entire working range. and the calibration certificate(traceable to International Standard NIST) shall be provided at the time of delivery with the Facility. 27 Installation, Commissioning & Training The training is to be provided to the team of engineers at CPRI Bangalore free of cost after installation and commissioning at the identified location free of cost 28 Warranty Two year warranty should be provided from date of Installation. Free upgrade of the software s as per CPRI requirement for the entire warranty period should be provided. 29 Delivery The delivery of the Facility s is required to be made within 3 to 4 months from the date of the placement of supply order. Delivery should include Basic Machine with accessories as per the specifications & Service Manuals. Page 7 of 9

8 30 Miscellaneous Quotation should be strictly based on specifications. List of instruments supplied, installation details with contact information to be enclosed with the quotation. Maintenance facilities available including location, no. of trained personnel available, lead time to attend to breakdown calls and allied details is to be provided as an enclosure with the quotation Essential spares for trouble free operation and maintenance for min.3 years should be furnished in option 31 Pre Installation Requirements Pre Installation requirements for Cyclic Corrosion facility shall be quoted separately and should be able to supply also. 32 Note 1. Deviations if any from the specifications given above which provides improvement in the functioning of the equipment shall be clearly brought out with their advantages. 2. Any additional features other than the above may be brought out clearly 3. It is confirmed that the offer meets all the clauses in all respects OR The offer meets most of the clauses except for the deviation indicated in deviation statement. PN : 1.
