1 BC HYDRO POWER SMART SPRING CONTEST THIS CONTEST IS OPEN TO BRITISH COLUMBIA RESIDENTS ONLY AND IS GOVERNED BY BRITISH COLUMBIA AND CANADIAN LAW. 1. CONTEST PERIOD: The British Columbia Hydro and Power Authority ( BC Hydro ) Power Wheel Contest (the Contest ) begins on March 1, 2013 at 12:00:01 a.m. Pacific Time ( PT ) and ends on March 31, 2013 at 11:59:59 p.m. PT (the Contest Period ). 2. ELIGIBILITY: Contest is open to all legal residents of British Columbia who have reached the age nineteen (19) years at the time of participation, except for employees, representatives or agents (and those with whom such persons are domiciled, whether related or not) of BC Hydro (the Sponsor ), its affiliated companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, distributors, prize suppliers and advertising/promotion agencies (collectively, the Contest Parties ). 3. HOW TO PLAY INSTANT WIN GAME: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Any time during the Contest Period, visit the BC Hydro Power Smart website at and follow the on-screen instructions to play the online Power Wheel game to see if you are an eligible instant win prize winner in the Contest (the Play/Plays ). You may also enter at the same website using the following mobile devices: ios 4+, Android 2.3+ and Blackberry OS 7+. If you are eligible to win an instant win prize, you will automatically be notified on-screen with a message stating You Won!*, along with prize redemption instructions. If you are not eligible to win an instant win prize, you will automatically receive a Sorry, try again. notification on-screen. There is an initial limit of one (1) Play per person per day in this Contest; however, participants may receive additional plays by obtaining replay codes which are available through: 1. Daily unique codes on powersmart.ca 2. Sharing through BC Hydro social channels- Facebook and Twitter 3. Daily unique codes on Global TV 4. Community events throughout the Province of B.C. at which BC Hydro Power Smart will be participating during the Contest Period. 5. The March edition of BC Hydro s Connected enewsletter 6. Receipt of a BC Hydro Power Smart Energy Saving Kit which is available to low income households Additional Chances for Sharing: When you are playing the game, you will have the option to share through your Facebook or Twitter channel prior to spinning the wheel. If you choose to do so, each Play (including, if applicable, any replay) on that day will automatically have two chances to win..

2 - 2 - You may also obtain replay codes by sharing through Facebook or Twitter as referenced above. If it is discovered that any person has attempted to: (i) obtain more than the allowable number of Plays into the Contest; and/or (iii) use (or attempt to use) multiple names and/or identities to enter the Contest; then (in the sole and absolute discretion of the Sponsor) he/she may be disqualified from the Contest. Use (or attempted use) of multiple names, identities and/or any automated, script, macro, robotic or other program(s) or system(s) of any kind to enter or otherwise participate in or disrupt this Contest is prohibited and is grounds for disqualification by the Sponsor. The Releasees (defined below) are not responsible for, and accept no liability in relation to, late, lost, misdirected, delayed, incomplete or incompatible Plays. The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook or Twitter. Facebook and Twitter are completely released of all liability from each entrant in this Contest. Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Contest must be directed to Sponsor and not Facebook or Twitter. By participating, participants agree to be legally bound by the terms and conditions of these Official Rules and Regulations (the Rules ). 4. INSTANT WIN PRIZES AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE: The following nine hundred and sixty-one (961) instant win prizes will be available to be won at the onset of the Contest: (a) (b) Thirty one (31) two packs of Phillips 12.5W LED A dimmable soft white bulbs, each with an approximate retail value $29.98 each (one two pack prize per day during the Contest Period); and Nine hundred thirty (930) London Drugs gift cards valued at five dollars ($5.00 Cdn.) each (thirty per day during the Contest Period). Instant win prizes must be accepted as awarded and are non-transferable, non-refundable, non-assignable and nonexchangeable. No substitutions except at Sponsor s option. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize with a prize of equal or greater value. If due to printing, production, online, internet, computer or other error of any kind, more instant win prizes are claimed than intended to be awarded according to these Rules, or in the event that due to such error, a valid prize claim is revealed, making the number of valid prize claims greater than the number of instant win prizes available under these Rules, a random draw will be held after the Contest closes from amongst all eligible prize claimants to award the remaining number of advertised instant win prizes. In no event will the Releasees (defined below) be liable for more than the stated number of instant win prizes in these Rules. 5. INSTANT WIN WINNER SELECTION: Each day throughout the duration of the Contest Period, a total of thirty one Plays will be randomly pre-selected as prize-eligible Plays. For each Play (including any applicable replays) and second chance to win (applicable only when participant has shared on Facebook or Twitter - see Additional Chances for Sharing above), the odds of winning a bulb package or $5 London Drugs gift card at the start of each day during the Contest Period are approximately 1 in 80 (based on an estimated 2500 plays per day). As prizes are awarded, the number of prizes available to be won will decline during the Contest Period. Instant Win Prizes which are not claimed in accordance with these rules by 12:30 am on April 1, 2013 will be void. If you are eligible to win an instant win prize, you will automatically be notified on-screen with a message stating You

3 - 3 - Won!*. If you are not eligible to win an instant win prize, you will automatically receive a Sorry, try again notification on-screen. 6. CLAIMING INSTANT WIN PRIZES: If you are identified as an eligible instant win prize winner (as noted above), then you must follow the on-screen instructions to visit (or, for mobile entrants, where you will be required to fully complete the online prize redemption form (the Redemption Form ), which requires you to: (i) enter your full name, full shipping address (note: deliveries cannot be made to P.O. Box numbers, physical street address is required); city; province/territory; postal code and unique redemption code (which will be contained within your Redemption Form) (iii) agree to the terms and conditions of the Sponsor s online Declaration and Release (see below); and (iv) click the Submit button to complete your prize claim. Any unclaimed instant win prizes within the redemption timeframe will not be awarded and will be forfeited. The number of instant win prizes available to be won will decrease as instant win prizes are claimed throughout Contest Period. IMPORTANT: Redemption Forms to claim Instant Win Prizes must be submitted by April 1, 2013 at 12:30 a.m.. PT or they will be forfeited and the associated unique redemption code will be void. Each prize will only be awarded to the person whose verifiable full name and valid address appears on the Redemption Form. LIMIT one prize per redemption code. The first person to enter the correct unique redemption code is eligible to win the prize. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to require proof of identity and/or eligibility (in a form acceptable to the Sponsor including, without limitation, government issued photo identification) for verification and fulfillment purposes. Before being declared a confirmed winner, each eligible instant win prize winner will be required to: (a) correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question contained on the Redemption Form; and (b) agree to the terms and conditions of the Sponsor s online Declaration and Release (see hyperlink on Redemption Form), which (among other things): (i) confirms compliance with these Rules; (ii) acknowledges acceptance of the instant win prize as awarded; and (iii) releases the Contest Parties and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively, the Releasees ) from any and all liability in connection with this Contest, his/her participation therein and/or the awarding and use/misuse of the instant win prize or any portion thereof. If an eligible instant win prize winner (a) fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question (b) fails to properly complete the Redemption Form; (c) does not or cannot agree to the terms of the Declaration and Release or these Rules (for any reason); and/or (d) cannot accept the instant win prize for any reason; then he/she will be disqualified and will forfeit the corresponding instant win prize. IMPORTANT NOTE: ANY FORFEITED INSTANT WIN PRIZE(S) IN THIS CONTEST WILL NOT BE AWARDED. ALL PRIZE REDEMPTION FORMS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY APRIL 1, 2013 AT 12:30 AM PT. NO EXTENSIONS WILL BE PERMITTED. 7. GRAND PRIZE RANDOM DRAW: Only persons who have been declared confirmed winners of an instant win prize are eligible to be entered in the grand prize draw. There is one (1) grand prize available to be won, consisting of a Samsung laundry pair with an estimated total value of $4,000, including shipping and delivery. Prize package will consist of: a) Samsung front load clothes washer Charcoal Model # WF457ARGSGR 5.2 cu.ft (approximate retail value $2,149.99)

(approximate retail value $1,749.99) A random draw will be conducted on or around April 8, 2013 to select one (1) eligible winner from all instant win prize winners. Chances of winning the grand prize are approximately 1 in 961. Before being declared the winner of the Grand Prize, the selected participant will be contacted by phone or and be required to: (a) correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question and (b) sign the Sponsor s Declaration and Release form which (among other things): (i) confirms compliance with these Rules; (ii) acknowledges acceptance of the Grand prize as awarded; and (iii) releases the Contest Parties and each of their respective officers, directors, agents, representatives, successors and assigns (collectively, the Releasees ) from any and all liability in connection with this Contest, his/her participation therein and/or the awarding and use/misuse of the prize or any portion thereof. If an eligible grand prize winner (a) fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question (b) fails to properly complete and return the Declaration and Release Form within the timeframe stipulated by the Sponsor; (c) does not or cannot agree to the terms of the Declaration and Release or these Rules (for any reason); and/or (d) cannot accept the prize for any reason; then he/she will be disqualified and will forfeit the Grand prize. 8. GENERAL CONDITIONS: All Plays become the property of the Sponsor. The Releasees assume no responsibility for lost, delayed, incomplete, incompatible or misdirected Plays. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. The decisions of the Sponsor with respect to all aspects of this Contest are final and binding on all entrants without right of appeal, including, without limitation, any decisions regarding the eligibility/disqualification of Plays. The Releasees will not be liable for: (i) any failure of the Contest webpage during the Contest; (ii) any technical malfunction or other problems relating to the telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment or software; (iii) the failure of any Play to be received for any reason, including, but not limited to, technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet or at any website; (iv) any injury or damage to an entrant s or any other person s computer or other device related to or resulting from participating or downloading any material in the Contest; and/or (v) any combination of the above. All Plays are subject to verification at any time. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to require proof of identity and/or eligibility (in a form acceptable to the Sponsor including, without limitation, government issued photo identification) to participate in this Contest. Failure to provide such proof to the satisfaction of the Sponsor in a timely manner may result in disqualification. The sole determinant of the time for the purposes of a valid Play in this Contest will be the Contest server machine(s). The Sponsor reserves the right to withdraw, amend or suspend this Contest (or to amend these Rules) in any way, in the event of an error, technical problem, computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor that interferes with the proper conduct of this Contest as contemplated by these Rules. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest in any way (as determined by Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion) is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law. The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, amend or suspend this Contest, or to amend these Rules, without prior notice or obligation, in the event of any accident, printing, administrative, or other error of any kind, or for any other reason. By entering this Contest, each entrant expressly consents to the Sponsor, its agents and/or representatives, storing, sharing and using the personal information submitted with his/her Entry only for the purpose of administering the Contest and in accordance with Sponsor s privacy statement (available at unless the entrant otherwise agrees.

5 - 5 - The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, and without prior notice, to adjust any of the dates and/or timeframes stipulated in these Rules, to the extent necessary, for purposes of verifying compliance by any Play with these Rules, or as a result of technical problems, or in light of any other circumstances which, in the opinion of the Sponsor, in its sole and absolute discretion, affect the proper administration of the Contest as contemplated in these Rules. For selected entrants only: the personal information you provide on the Redemption Form will only be used for the administration of the Contest and fulfilment of prizes. BC Hydro collects and uses this information under the authority of the Hydro and Power Authority Act and related subordinate legislation and is handled in accordance with the provisions of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
