2 Job description Job Purpose: You will deliver a programme of employer events on campus to support graduate employability that may include sector specific Careers Fairs, employer drop-ins, insight events, Skills workshops, presentations and mock s for Careers+Placements. Your work will support the overhead KPIs of high level graduate employment and 100% placements. Through engagement with employers (local, national and international) and placement /work experience providers you will create effective networks and working relationships to benefit Aston students and graduates. You will report to the Student Engagement Manager, analysing and providing data/statistical information and reports as required. Main Duties/Responsibilities: The delivery of a high quality programme of events and fairs that will generate income and enhance the reputation of Aston and the employability of its students and graduates. Production of an annual report, review and evaluation of Careers+Placements events provision and proposal of recommendations for the following academic year. You will also explore alternative event options e.g. virtual fairs/webinars. The maintenance and development of relationships with existing employers and the engagement of new employers to the events cycle. You will liaise with employers to schedule visits and meetings as required, involving other members of staff as appropriate. You will act as the first point of contact for allocated key accounts and other business development opportunities to support the Employer Engagement Team. Working with suppliers to co-ordinate event resources and deliver high quality employability events. This may involve arranging meetings with employers/exhibitors, liaison with colleagues internally to plan the event, book rooms and equipment, handling booking requirements, co-ordinating student helpers and evaluating the event. In conjunction with the Careers+Placements Student Engagement Team, develop a range of printed and electronic promotional and marketing materials as appropriate within the Communications Plan. Using a variety of methods you will plan and carry out effective event promotion to students, employers and staff. The management and commitment of budgets for events or projects as may be allocated by the Director of Employability or the Head of Student and Employer Engagement. You will ensure that events continue to generate income and liaise with the Careers Administrator and Accounts Payable staff with regards to online payments, invoices and purchase orders. Working with the Employer Engagement Team to maintain and develop a database of employer contacts - Aston Futures, ensuring that approaches to employer engagement are carried out in a coherent way, with input to the development of protocols. Researching and facilitating opportunities for students and employers to connect. This may include spotting trends in the labour market, finding new ways of making students visible to employers, contacting academics to secure financial and/or academic sponsor support for student competitions, liaison with student societies. Developing new ways to build our reputation with our employers, enabling them to promote work experience opportunities including internships for first years, projects, leadership programmes, competitions etc. You will co-ordinate a diary of external events and training for the Careers+Placements Team, including employer careers information days, training events or conferences. This will include co-

3 ordinating invitations, publicising to members of the team and updating the spreadsheet to show who is attending. Undertaking efficient and accurate day-to-day administration. This may include keeping detailed records, the use of University record and finance systems, the production of progress or evaluation reports, and the collection and analysis of statistical information as appropriate. Monitoring activity against targets agreed with the Student Engagement Manager and evaluating progress in meeting these, providing reports/data as required by your line manager and/or Director of Employability. Working within and ensuring compliance with relevant Data Protection, Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities and other relevant employment related legislation. You will contribute to and support other Careers and Placements activities and work flexibly as a member of the team, undertaking any other duties as required by the Student Engagement Manager.
