Community requirements are captured for the GS1net roadmap, then scheduled based on: Bandwidth / GDSN releases GS1 Priority assessment April planned enhancements --- Supplier and Recipient search results to be further narrowed using tick-box before download Recipient full catalogue downloads to be split into file chunks no larger than 10Mb (XML) Recipient - search for Notifications via Supplier Item # 2012 GS1 14 NZ

18 Price Purge May 2012 May Price Purge --- GS1 has defined a price purge routine --- Broadly-speaking it will remove (purge) any prices which have been historically end-dated for >13 months when the routine runs The routine will have an initial run, then occur monthly The initial weekend run of the routine will be (tbc): mid-may 2012 A report of all purged prices will be retained by GS GS1 18 NZ

19 GDSN Release (MR5) Oct 2012 October High Level MR5 Impacts Data pools worldwide need to be conformant with MR5 --- New version of GS1 XML Extension attributes moving to CORE MR s typically an annual event (exc. 2011) GDSN Maintenance Release 5 MR5 release dates are: Office Supplies à CORE Beta: 11 Aug 2012 Hardlines à CORE Prod: 6 Oct 2012 FMCG à CORE As with previous Relevant GDSN for releases, Data Recipients, GS1 will conduct Middleware a full impact analysis Vendors, and provide Custom briefing Integrated sessions Suppliers to our community on MR5 early in GS1 19 NZ

26 GS1 Media Solution CURRENT STATE GS1net enables Brand Owners to load low res product images and other digital assets against their product records Images and other digital assets are then accessible by trading partners Trading Partners can download via the GS1net GUI 2012 GS1 26 NZ

27 GS1 Media Solution LIMITATIONS Product images are exchanged via the GS1net Registry (not M2M) No notification to trading partners of image changes Support for Low Res images only (350KB) Limitations on uploading & downloading Result à Low utilisation by industry as an image sharing mechanism 2012 GS1 27 NZ

34 It s not just Grocery Lowes (US) is the 2 nd biggest hardware retailer in the world Lowes recently launched an app for iphone that lets customers research and purchase products App product data is fed directly to Lowes mainframe from GDSN Extended Marketing Data is the backbone of the selling solutions Lowe s Canada is launching in the future Lowes online channel grew 70% in 2011 & is based on rich product data from GDSN Lowe s is executing 98% of all item set-up and maintenance via the Global Data Synchronization Network 2012 GS1 34 NZ

71 GS1 DQ Accreditation (DQF) - FUTURE Companies have to seek and maintain GS1 Data Quality Accredited status Data quality assessment performed Organisation has to achieve a minimum score to be able to apply to be accredited Based on score and gap closure plan accreditation can be awarded Company will be audited annually to ensure minimum score is met and gap closure plan is being adhered to Provides organisation and trading partner will level of assurance surrounding data quality 2012 GS1 NZ
