This gives us an up close solar experience we can share with our customers. 1ST ENERGY STAR By following an energy master plan and setting aggressive goals, we ve reduced ENERGY CONSUMPTION & by 50% since 2009 and we are working towards being NET ZERO ENERGY READY by 2030 LEED CI CERTIFICATION RATING IN 2015 after 6 years of continuous improvement. All purchased monitors and appliances are Energy Star certified. Sustainable design resulting in a better work environment for employees that displays inventive ways to use sustainable materials. As responsible citizens of the global community, we believe in creating a built environment that is in harmony with our natural one. CENTER FOR ENERGY PERFORMANCE: The Center for Energy Performance (CEP) provides leadership in sustainable construction practices and energy-efficient buildings, and is a resource for all team members in support of their projects. The CEP aids project teams in certifications, energy modeling, life-cycle analysis and much more. More than $18.3B in green/sustainable projects since 2006 EFFICIENT CONSTRUCTION SITES: > See our certifications We have departments which specialize in efficient construction, our Virtual Design in Construction group and our Center for Lean Innovation. We support this objective through waste reduction, recycling and the reuse of existing materials. Combined, these efforts decrease our reliance on new raw materials, ease the stress on our natural resources and dramatically reduce our human footprint and overall impact on the environment. SUSTAINABILITY AT WORK electric vehicle charging ipads & Smartboard technology help reduce paper use. To further reduce waste on our projects, we enable every project with Smartboards and Tablets for viewing project plans rather than printing. FUEL-EFFICIENT VEHICLE FLEET Since 2006, Mortenson has offered hybrid cars as part of our employee vehicle program. VEHICLE CHARGING STATIONS WASTE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM Our project waste management plan has tracked and diverted over 50% of all construction waste out of landfills. RECYCLING Every project site and employee workstation is equipped with recycling bins. We utilize technology in an effort to reduce paper waste. Every office location includes: general office waste, packaging, bottles/cans, batteries and electronics. Over the past year ( ) we have recycled 80% of all waste leaving Mortenson HQ. support the use of electric vehicles at Mortenson HQ COMPOSTING CONTINUING EDUCATION collects 4 yards of organics/month; in locations with food service. We have funded over 250 employees who chose to take the LEED exam. We also support employees seeking advanced certifications related to their work. GREEN ADVANCEMENT Established in 2011 to support green building research, promote best practices and encourage the advancement of sustainable design on our construction projects and within our employees. CENTER FOR LEAN INNOVATION strives to bring innovation into the workplace increasing productivity & decreasing waste. DURABILITY Mockups or material testings are performed on every project to determine the durability of a material or system in a design. Saves time, money & materials by finding and fixing issues prior to construction. POLLINATOR PLEDGE We focus on planting pollinator-friendly flowers and avoiding the use of harmful pesticides at our headquarters and on project sites.

That s why we support professional development opportunities for our employees through a variety of certifications. This investment in our people ensures that we are always innovating and improving. GREEN GLOBES PROFESSIONALS Green Globes provides guidance on properly designing, building and maintaining high-performance buildings. We have team members who are Green Globes Professionals who are on hand to assist our project teams. ILFI CERTIFIED PROVIDERS The International Living Future Institute is a rating system called the Living Building Challenge (LBC). The LBC includes 7 performance categories that promote the most advanced measures of sustainability in the built environment. Several team members are currently working towards certification. LEED CERTIFICATIONS With over 250 team members being LEED certified, we continue to provide guidance and expertise to our team members pursuing certification.
