4 TAXPRO Journal Policies and Procedures Payment Policy Payment is due within thirty days of date on invoice. No cash discount is given. Payment must accompany orders for first-time advertisers. Publisher reserves the right to determine the terms for payment prior to publication of any ordered advertisement. Publisher may change the published rates at any time, but this increase will not apply to advertising insertion orders received by NATP before the announcement of new rates. Agency Commission A commission of 15 percent of gross billing is allowed to recognized advertising agencies on space, color, and position only, provided that the account is paid within 30 days of invoice date. If the account must be sent out for collection due to nonpayment, then the 15 percent agency commission is disallowed, and the gross amount, plus applicable interest, court costs, and legal fees will be due to NATP. Changes and Cancellations Production costs for any changes will be charged to the advertiser. No cancellations or changes in orders will be accepted unless received in writing by the publisher prior to the closing date. Orders for cover advertising are accepted on a noncancelable basis only. Advertising Policies NATP reserves the right to reject or to cancel any advertisement at any time. Advertisers and advertising agencies assume liability for all ad content including text, representation, and illustration, and also assume responsibility for any claims arising therefrom against NATP. All advertisers, with the exception of classified advertisers, must be in business for at least two years before they are eligible to advertise in the TAXPRO Journal. NATP shall not be liable for any failure to print, publish, or circulate all or any portion of any issue in which an advertisement accepted by NATP is contained if such failure is due to acts of God, acts of government or government instrumentality (whether federal, state, or local), strikes, accidents, work stoppages, fire, or any other circumstances beyond the control of NATP. The word advertisement, in not less than eight-point type, must be included at the top of all advertisements that carry no signature or simulate editorial material. The advertiser will be charged for alterations and corrections. NATP will endeavor to honor all requests for advertising positions within each issue, but cannot guarantee fixed positioning since editorial requirements change during the production process. Advertising materials will be stored by NATP for 12 months and then destroyed unless otherwise requested. NATP will not be bound by any conditions, printed or otherwise, that appear on order blanks or copy instructions when such conditions conflict with the regulations and policies set forth in these guidelines. In the event of nonpayment, NATP reserves the right to hold the advertiser and/or its advertising agency jointly and severally liable for such monies as are due and payable to NATP.
