2 What is the Business Organization of Old Town (B.O.O.T.)? The Business Organization of Old Town Clovis (B.O.O.T.) is a unique, non-profit, membership-based organization. Established in the late 1970s to represent and support the growing needs of Old Town Clovis merchants, B.O.O.T. has blossomed into an organization that encourages growth and development in Old Town Clovis and the surrounding area. By engaging in key committees within the City, B.O.O.T. is able to advocate for a unified vision, cooperation and consistency in long-range regional planning and decision-making for Old Town Clovis. The Business Organization is supported primarily by City of Clovis, the dedication of merchant members and the revenues earned from hosting several successful Signature Events throughout the year. By operating with a clear vision and passion for enhancing the development of the greater Old Town area, B.O.O.T. has established itself as an economic force in Clovis. Old Town Clovis is a Parking and Business Improvement Area (PBIA). The boundaries are on the east side of Woodworth Avenue, east side of Clovis Avenue, 2nd Street to 3rd Street on both sides of Clovis Avenue, and 3rd Street on the north and 7th Street to the south. Businesses located within the boundaries are encouraged to join B.O.O.T. The greater area of Old Town is loosely considered to be Barstow to the south and Sierra to the north; Sunnyside to the east and Villa to the west. Businesses outside of the PBIA can be Associate Members and enjoy the benefits of being part of the B.O.O.T. Running mid-may through the end of September, it is the largest Certified Farmers Market in the Central Valley, seeing crowds nightly at 5,000 on average and swelling to 10,000 for special events. 6 Old Town Clovis Car Show Our 4th Annual Car Show will be Sunday, April 14, 2019 from 9 AM to 3 PM. This is fast becoming the largest car show in the Central Valley and we anticipate between cars this coming year and more than 25,000 attendees. 7 Our newest event is a beautiful community dinner with friends and family, business associates and our elected officials. Set with Kings Tables down the middle of Pollasky Avenue, we will be dining in style to the great tastes of farm fresh foods being prepared by our fine dining Old Town chefs. This event benefits Pink Heals/Guardian of the Ribbon, a local charity doing amazing work supporting families dealing with cancer, with particular emphasis on helping firefighters that need support. Join us in helping this non-profit continue its important work while branding your business with a very special event. Now our largest and most popular vintage show, with 150 plus dealers, drawing crowds estimated at 15K 20K for the all-day event. 11 $5,000 Underwriter currently unavailable The Old Town Clovis One Enchanted Evening takes place the Thursday before Thanksgiving each year. One Enchanted Evening is Old Town s kick-off for the holidays. The event features our beautifully decorated merchant stores many of which provide finger foods, cookies and beverage. You ll find strolling carolers and other entertainment on our lights aglow streets. Our two horse-drawn carriages are a main attraction. Our 16th Annual Event is November 21st, 2019, this is a great opportunity for a Sponsor to create a coming home for the holidays theme. Estimated crowd is upwards of 8,000 people. This event is looked forward to every year by many of the people you want to reach. 12 One of the things people look forward to most in Old Town Clovis is our holiday activities particularly the free horse-drawn carriage rides! Every Saturday and Sunday from Saturday after Thanksgiving to the Sunday before Christmas, 1-4 PM, the carriage takes people through the town. There is always a line and most days the carriage takes over 400 people through the streets!
