2 October 20, 2017 As we move into the last months of 2017, I want to extend a special thank you to the companies who have participated as sponsors of our chapter this past year. Our organization cannot operate on membership dues alone. The investment our sponsors make allows us to continue to serve our members and act as a beacon for excellence in the professional remodeling industry in our region. With your support, to date in 2017 we: Welcomed 35 new businesses as members and experienced an 18% growth rate in membership, Celebrated our Contractor of the Year Awards with over 200 attendees and a record number of entries, Hosted our annual EM NARI Golf Tournament with a full field of golfers and sponsors, Continued our Youth Remodeling Career Day and hosted 450 students from Career Vocational and Technical Schools around Massachusetts at 35 different stations and activities during the event, Offered informative membership programs including our annual remodeling industry forecast, a talk by Tim Faller, a panel on Finding & Keeping the Right Employees, and our popular Inspectors Panel, We launched our newest committee focused on Workforce Development focused on increasing the pipeline of new workers in remodeling and supporting remodelers as they train new workers, and We launched a new Mentorship Program designed to connect emerging remodeling businesses with industry veterans to help them as they navigate the challenges of growing a business. Planning for 2018 is underway now. As a prospective sponsor, we would welcome the chance to share some early information about upcoming initiatives. First off, our Table Top Vendor Showcase Event is changing. We are evolving the event into The Remodelers Conference a day-long educational symposium for contractors that will include exhibitor booths during the breaks and lunch. This event ties in with the state s new requirement that Construction Supervisor License holders must now get 6 of their 12 bi-annual CEUs in person. We believe this offering, along with the terrific line up of speakers we have planned, will be a great draw. Additionally, we are engaged in several new print and online efforts to grow the EM NARI brand with contractors and consumers in the region. As always, we will continue to serve our industry by providing excellent programs and educational offerings, connecting members with colleagues to share best practices, and creating new opportunities that will help our members and their businesses grow. 3 ABOUT EM NARI: The Value of EM NARI Membership E D U C A T I O N C O N N E C T I O N S E X C E L L E N C E Founded in the 1980 s, the Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of NARI, Inc. (EM NARI) is dedicated to serving the professional remodeling industry. We focus on providing programs that help our region s remodelers grow their businesses and provide the highest levels of quality to their clients. Our members at EM NARI are comprised of professional remodeling contractors and the vendors, sub-contractors and suppliers that serve them. EM NARI is part of the National NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) organization. NARI is comprised of more than 50 chapters across the U.S. representing nearly 7,000 companies and approximately 100,000 remodeling professionals. QUICK FACTS: EM NARI is a non-profit 501(c)6 membership association based in Newton Centre, Massachusetts. Our members include over 1,000 remodeling industry professionals representing nearly 200 New England businesses. The majority of EM NARI member organizations are headquartered around the Boston, MA area - although Southern New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Cape Cod and locations as far west as Springfield, MA are represented. Our chapter meets monthly to network and learn about the latest industry trends and insights. Membership meetings often average members in attendance. Our chapter has certified over 150 industry professionals across 9 programs. Our chapter hosts a local Contractor of the Year Awards competition annually where members compete for recognition in 20 project categories. EM NARI also hosts an annual golf tournament, networking events, and educational seminars throughout the year that offer great opportunities to connect and engage with colleagues. I found NARI when I was searching for ways to learn about business and expand both my personal and company s professional development. My membership and involvement has been invaluable in this quest. I have earned three NARI certifications personally and had 5 employees achieve certifications over the years. Through the awards programs my firm has won recognition with 20 local, regional and national level awards.
