3 ABOUT THE HAROLD E. EISENBERG FOUNDATION Our Mission: The Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation (HEEF) is committed to embracing life s challenges through cancer research and education. Harold s Story: A Man Who Inspired Many In early 1999, Harold E. Eisenberg passed away suddenly from liver cancer. Almost immediately, in an outpouring of love, Harold s friends and family established the Foundation in his name. We are dedicated to raising funds for cancer research so that other families do not have to endure the loss of a loved one from gastrointestinal cancer. Harold s legacy as an educational leader lives on through the Foundation s real estate programs. We remain committed to celebrating the spirit of a man whose love of people and passion for learning inspired those around him. It remains our mission to continue Harold s good work. OUR PROGRAMS Cancer Research HEEF is committed to finding a cure for gastrointestinal cancers, including those of the esophagus, stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, colon, small intestine and rectum. These diseases account for 20% of all cancer diagnoses globally. Colorectal cancers are the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States. We are working in partnership with the Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center to fund cutting-edge research aimed at saving lives. Real Estate Education HEEF is dedicated to continuing Harold's legacy of enriching and empowering students and young professionals. HEEF's real estate education programs are designed to provide students with exposure to and experience in the real world of real estate through opportunities like Mentorships, Career Counseling, Career Day, the Speaker Series, the Real Estate Challenge, the Scholar Program and more. Giving Back HEEF relies upon the time and talent of its volunteers and the generosity of individual and corporate donors. Because of them, we continue to fund cutting-edge cancer research and real estate education programs.
