2 2014 SPONSORSHIP BROCHURE X131 THE SIXTH ANNUAL San Diego Festival of Science & Engineering Coming to San Diego County and PETCO Park March 15-22, 2014 OUR MISSION The San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering s mission is to engage and excite children about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). By working with parents and educators, the Festival inspires today s students to become tomorrow s STEM innovators. We feel it s everyone s responsibility to create and sustain excitement for STEM in the minds of children, especially when STEM principles represent a large part of our daily lives, our region s economy, and an opportunity for a secure socio-economic environment. We believe in leading by example and invite you to join us in exciting future STEM innovators and giving back to our community to ensure its growth potential and quality of life for everyone; regardless of race, creed, gender, or personal beliefs. Jean-Jacques Rousseau Highlights of the 2014 Festival: Opening day with Science Family Day at Balboa Park, Super STEM Saturday presented by California State University San Marcos and The Classical Academies, Keep the Coast Clean presented by San Diego Coastkeeper, Science Fun for Kids 9 to 99 presented by San Diego Miramar College, SEA Days at Birch Aquarium at Scripps, and much more! 40 events during the Festival week highlighting organizations throughout San Diego County. The Nifty Fifty Speakers Series, bringing science and engineering professionals from a variety of fields and backgrounds into K-12 classrooms throughout San Diego County to raise educational interest and awareness of STEM career opportunities. The Bright Ideas Society, where participating teams from around San Diego County bring together STEM principles, imagination, and curiosity to create unique educational exhibits. EXPO DAY, Saturday, March 22nd, at PETCO Park is the Festival s culminating event with more than 130 organizations providing interactive, hands-on activities showcasing STEM from around the San Diego Region. The What s Next? resource guide, available on the Festival website, that promotes the year-round activities of our collaborators and partners. The section will be inserted into the U-T prior to Festival Week and be seen by up to 780,000 readers. Special sponsor pricing is available for this unique and targeted promotional piece. A portion of the ad fee will be donated to the Festival. Advertising space will be secured via signed Insertion Order prepared for your space.
