They risk being unsupervised, unguided and unsafe. A lack of safety, mentors, expanded learning opportunities, healthy living, and character building leaves these kids at a steep disadvantage before they can even get started. Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County realizes that it is imperative to provide life-changing opportunities, support and mentorships out-of-school to put our nation on a path to a great future. We help America s youth graduate, develop plans for the future and become successful, healthy and engaged citizens. Through sponsorships and commuity fundraisers, we are able to open our doors to over 3,000 youth from all walks of life providing highquality programs, safe and positive adult mentors, and help for kids to grow into productive and caring citizens. 4 January 31, 2018 This celebration is the culmination of the Youth of the Year program and the greatest recognition of youth leadership in Thurston County. The representative chosen to be the Youth of the Year for Boys & Girls Clubs of Thurston County is announced that evening, and we will celebrate the accomplishments of five very talented Club members, staff and the people who helped them along the way (that s you)! Youth of the Year participants embody the values of leadership, service, academic excellence and healthy lifestyles; they exemplify the critical impact of Boys & Girls Clubs on the lives of young people. Through the Youth of the Year program, young people showcase their talents and achievements, share their hopes and dreams, and work toward a bright and positive future.
