2 Event Overview Esquimalt Farmers Market was born as an idea in 2014 and launched the first season in May The market is here to serve the community of Esquimalt and surrounding areas and is dedicated to promoting healthy and local living, building relationships while encouraging environmental and economic sustainability in the Township. EFM s 4th season was the biggest success to date with 120+ vendors featured over 17 weekly markets plus 9 Indoor Markets & a Christmas Market. Each week the market attracted an average of 900 people who came to shop. EFM received the most prestigious awards to date through the BC Association of Farmers Markets, EFM was named Best (medium sized) Market 2017 as well as naming Katrina Dwulit Best Market Manager Through a weekly community market EFM is improving the quality of life throughout the Township of Esquimalt and beyond. EFM invites your business to join in making our 5th annual season another success! The 2019 season commences on January 24, with 11 indoor Markets at Esquimalt Rec Centre occurring on Thursday s biweekly into weekly Markets until the outdoor Markets begins May 16 and ends September 19 outdoors in Memorial Park, always pm. Also adding 9 Indoor Markets in the Fall and a Christmas Market on Sunday November 17 from 11-5pm. EFM is growing from 27 to 39 Markets this year due to an increase in demand and an awareness of the importance of local food and food security. During the regular season (May September) the Society hosts 19 weeks of markets featuring an average of 45 vendors and five food trucks per week. To reward patrons and support community members in need, Market Bucks a market based currency are distributed through outreach organizations or marketing promotions encouraging attendance, decreasing barriers to healthy food and allowing the purchase of the Bucks to attendees instead of having to leave the site for a Bank Machine- also stimulating this micro-economy. Markets are attended by visitors each week, providing sponsors an opportunity to build your brand and reputation through onsite promotion. EFM advertises on social media (Facebook, Twitter & Instagram), radio, newspapers, magazines, the Victoria Tourist Information Centre, community calendars, Kijiji, Craigslist & used.ca as well as through distribution of our annual poster, rack cards and business cards, providing an excellent opportunity for sponsor recognition. EFM aims to provide the Township of Esquimalt and surrounding areas with a marketplace which serves as a community gathering point that builds relationships, encourages healthy, local living, environmental and economic sustainability. Eco Sponsor (portable dish sink and service ware) $10,000 Sign with logo and name posted at Market and food trucks every week outdoors, for every season to follow! Sound Sponsor $3,000 Sign at music stage with logo and name. You got Swagger! (Vendor Swag) It s a Sign! (lawn signs) Volunteer Sponsor (19 weeks x $20 Market Bucks prizes) $1,000 Name and logo on 300 vendor lanyards (alongside EFM logo). $1,000 Logo on lawn signs around Esquimalt (x 20). $500 Pins with logo on volunteer aprons. FB sponsored advertising to search for volunteers. As per Blossom sponsor level. Vendors : EFM welcomes Vendors to be Sponsors and give donations. Only cash donations will be considered sponsorship and allow the Vendor the full scope of the Corporate Sponsorship offerings. In-kind donations are also gratefully accepted and will receive some attention through social media. Being a Sponsor will not add value to the relationship of Vendor and no special treatment will be applied. All Policy & Procedure remains mandatory to follow.
