1 THE BASICS What is mobile advertising? Mobile advertising is a form of advertising displayed to users of mobile (wireless) phones, tablets and other mobile devices. Xpress Mobile is an advertising and lead generation tool that helps you reach audiences on the go by creating mobile ads to be displayed in thousands of apps on mobile devices. This type of advertising puts your business in front of potential clients as they use their smartphones and tablets throughout the day. What is a mobile app? Mobile apps are software applications developed specifically for use on wireless devices such as smartphones and tablets rather than desktop or laptop computers. Some examples include Pandora, Shazam, Google Maps, AccuWeather, Yahoo Sports, and TripIt, along with thousands of other mobile apps available for entertainment, news, weather, sports, and wide range of additional content categories. Why should I run mobile ad campaigns? According to a study conducted by the National Association of REALTORS and Google, 89% of new home shoppers use mobile devices at the beginning of, and throughout their home search. Why should I want my ad to appear within mobile apps? 25% of the US population reaches the Internet using only their mobile phones. Mobile users spend 64% of the time they are on their phones within mobile apps. The average smartphone user checks their phone up to 150 times a day. What is a mobile ad impression? An ad impression or view is the number of times your mobile ad campaign was displayed within an app on mobile user s device. What is a click? Clicks are the number of times your mobile ad is clicked on by mobile users. Monthly Impressions The platform automatically calculates the number of daily impressions needed to deliver the total number of monthly impressions. The calculation is based on the campaign s duration and the remaining impressions needed. What is a secondary action? A secondary action happens after mobile users click on your ad. Do they call you? Do they fill out a form? Do they click on Map or Driving Directions? REACH & DISPLAY Who has the potential to see my mobile ad? Any mobile users within the geographic area you choose to target have the potential to see your mobile ad while using apps on their device. Depending on the campaign you choose, your mobile ad will be seen by thousands of prospective clients. How do I determine the geographic area where my mobile ad will be displayed? When creating your ad, you define where you want it displayed, based on ZIP code(s), city, or radius. 1

2 Ad Targeting Screen Sometimes the ZIP code and city boundaries will not be displayed on the map view within the ad portal. The Xpress Mobile program licenses third party data to create and display these boundaries on Google Maps within the ad portal. This data is used only to show the boundaries of a ZIP code or city area on the map; it does not impact the ad targeting and impression delivery. Sometimes the third party data is not available for a ZIP code and city boundary to be displayed on the map view. What types of apps will my mobile ad be featured on? Your mobile ad will be featured on a variety of mobile device apps, including apps relating to entertainment, news, weather, sports, and wide range of additional content categories. We have over 90,000 mobile apps within our network. Can I choose which apps my mobile ad will be displayed on? Due to the highly competitive nature of mobile advertising, the constant fluctuation of pricing, and availability of advertising space in specific apps, it is not possible to choose specific apps for your ads. The Xpress Mobile program monitors pricing and availability in real time and buys ad space at the most affordable rates, offering the highestquality exposure on the most active and relevant apps during optimal times within your target market. How are apps chosen for impressions? Impressions are served based on several factors including the mobile consumer s location, type of app, app performance, and available app inventory. How will I know my mobile ad was displayed? You can view your dashboard reports within the Xpress Mobile program to see campaign stats, such as total mobile ad views, clicks, and secondary actions. How long will my mobile ad stay on a viewer s screen? Depending on the app, your mobile ad will remain on a viewer s screen for approximately seconds, or longer, unless an additional action occurs in the app. What time of day will my mobile ad appear? Ads appear during the hours of 7 a.m. and 12 a.m. midnight local time, on the date you scheduled your mobile ad to run. If your ad is scheduled for the same day you built it, it will go live within 40 minutes after being submitted. This includes a 10-minute cancellation grace period that can be completed by accessing your order history and selecting the black x under the actions column. Once I approve my mobile ad, how long does it take to start running? Once approved, your mobile ad will start running on the date and time you specified when you created it. A mobile ad can launch within 40 minutes after you finish creating it. What is included in my Impression Guarantee? The ad view/impression guarantee provides you with the assurance your ad campaign will be displayed on mobile devices based on the product package you selected. If you selected the 45,000 ad impression package, your ad view/impression guarantee assures your ad campaign will be displayed 45,000 times within your target area during the campaign timeframe. Is the guaranteed number of ad views/impressions the minimum or the cap? The ad view/impression guarantee provides at a minimum the number of ad impressions within the package you selected. There is a possibility the system will display more than the minimum, but you will not be charged for any additional ad impressions served. 2

3 AD TYPES What kind of mobile ad can I create with the Xpress Mobile tool? You can create a mobile banner ad that is versioned into three different ad sizes to be displayed within a mobile application on an Apple or Android mobile device. What is a mobile banner ad? A mobile banner ad is a graphic displayed within a mobile application. Mobile banner ads have three standard sizes: 300 x 50 pixels, 320 x 50 pixels, and 300 x 250 pixels, which are specifically formatted for viewing on a variety of applications across a range of popular mobile devices. What is the difference between a Daily and a Monthly Ad Campaign? A Daily Ad Campaign is highly concentrated and promotes a specific event or time-sensitive information, such as a tradeshow, local community event, or an open house. A Monthly Ad Campaign runs throughout the month to increase awareness of your brand in your target market. Monthly ads are ideal for prospecting and lead generation in your target market. The monthly campaign end date will be 30 days after the selected start date. When should I run Daily Ads? The ideal time to run a Daily Ad campaign is when you have an upcoming event. When should I run Monthly Ads? The ideal time to run a Monthly Ad campaign is when you want to increase your brand awareness, launch a new product or service, or distribute a unique message to a target group of ZIP codes, cities, or radiuses around locations to generate new leads. CREATING ADS Does the Ad Name I assign when creating my mobile ad appear in the ad? The Ad Name does not appear in the mobile ad itself. It is used to identify each mobile ad you have created within your personal dashboard in the Xpress Mobile program. What does Deliver to Completion mean? When this feature is turned on the campaign will continue to run until the number of impressions requested have been delivered. The campaign may run later than the selected "End Date" to ensure delivery of all the requested ad impressions. Example: The 40,0000 Ad Impressions monthly campaign is created and launched on July 1st. On August 1st the system had delivered 35,000 Ad Impressions. If the "Deliver to Completion" is enabled, then the campaign would continue to run until the additional 5,0000 Ad Impressions are delivered. If the "Deliver to Completion" is not enabled, the campaign would stop running on August 1st. What does Flexible Radius mean? When this feature is turned on, the system will automatically expand the campaign target radius to ensure delivery of the requested number of Ad Impressions. Example: The 40,000 Ad Impressions monthly campaign target radius is set at 5 miles around 123 Main St., Fort Worth, TX. If the campaign is not delivering enough Ad Impressions within the target radius originally selected, the system will automatically expand the radius to increase the likelihood of achieving the number of requested ad impressions during the month. 3
