1 Westlake High School Orchestra Ad Sales Westlake High School Orchestra is currently selling advertising for its concert programs. This year, the programs will be distributed at three performances (does not include The Nutcracker Spectacular): October 25, 2017 December 13, 2017 May 9, 2018 Student participation in Ad Sales is voluntary funds raised from ad sales benefit both WHS Orchestra and the student. 20% of the proceeds from advertising help offset the cost of producing the programs, and the other 80% is credited to the student account of the person selling the ad. Student accounts can be used to cover costs of school sponsored trips (again voluntary); plans are underway for a spring trip to New York. Student account funds that are earned but not applied towards a trip will be reserved and carried forth to the next school year. Any funds remaining in the student account upon high school graduation (or earlier withdrawal from WHS Orchestra) will then be transferred to the EOPA/Orchestra activity fund. Advertising Options Section Player (name listed on WHS Orchestra Patron page) $ Concert Player (Quarter page, Approx. 5 W X 1.8 H) $ Maestro (Half Page, Approx. 5 W X 4 H) $ Golden Note Circle (Full Page, Approx. 5 W X 8 H) $ Ads must be submitted digitally. Please make sure that ads are designed in the appropriate orientation (landscape for half and quarter page ads, portrait for full page ads) for the ad size purchased. Ads may be resized to fit the ad sizes above. We recommend digital files be at least 300 dpi and saved in.jpg,.pdf,.tiff, or.eps format. Please digital files to doug@austin.rr.com Guidelines for selling an ad Contact businesses within local community, music teachers, your own family s business Wear your Orchestra polo shirt AND take a sample program with you (available in the Orchestra Hall) Parents, honor your orchestra student with a personal photo or message FILL out the 2 identical Advertising Contracts (attached) for each ad sold be sure to take the Contract Forms with you when selling in person! o Copy of WHS Orchestra Contract and payment should be placed in an envelope and dropped in the black lock box in the Orchestra Hall. o Cash or check payable to EOPA o Copy of Advertiser Contract serves as a receipt and should be given to the advertiser Be sure to thank the advertiser for supporting orchestra (a written thank you note is great!). EOPA will reserve 1 complimentary program for you to present to the advertiser with your thank you note (contact Mr. Schultz after the first orchestra performance). NO Ad will be placed in the program and no student will receive credit until the contract, the payment and the ad copy are received by Mr. Schultz (deadline ). All advertising contracts, money, and ad copy must be received by Doug Schultz no later than 12:00pm Friday, September 29, 2017 to be included in the 3 concert programs. Students, it is your responsibility to follow up on all ad sales please make sure that all contracts, money and digital ad copy have been received by Mr. Schultz before the September 29th deadline!
