1 June 2 & 3, 2018 Stephens Lake Park Art in the Park has been an iconic summer-in-columbia event since 1959, when it was founded by the Columbia Art League as the Sidewalk Art Fair. In 2017, some 14,000 people attended the Fine Arts & Crafts event at Stephens Lake Park, spending in excess of $165,000. Now in it s 60 th year, Art in the Park remains the only completely free major festival in Columbia, bringing together people from all walks of life for two days of art, music, magic and creativity. For the past four years Art in the Park has been a designated Signature Series event by the Columbia Convention & Visitors Bureau. The festival is organized by the Columbia Art League, a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization founded over 50 years ago, and funded with thanks to a range of corporate and private sponsors, with support from city and state arts funding. Aside from the Columbia Art League Executive Director, Art in the Park is 100% staffed by community volunteers. For sponsors, Art in the Park offers an opportunity to speak to a cross section of the community at a feel-good event that generations of Columbians and mid-missourians look forward to every year.
