2 November 15, 2016 As we move into the final weeks of 2016, I want to extend a special thank you to the companies who have participated as sponsors of our chapter this past year. Our organization cannot operate on membership dues alone. The investment our sponsors make allows us to continue to serve our members and act as a beacon for excellence in the professional remodeling industry in our region. With your support, in 2016 we: Welcomed 25 new businesses as members, Celebrated our Contractor of the Year Awards winners with over 200 attendees and a record number of project entries, Made new connections at the JLC Show in Rhode Island, Hosted our annual EM NARI Golf Tournament with a full field of golfers and sponsors, Offered informative membership programs including our annual remodeling industry forecast, a talk by Tedd Benson, a program on the changing building codes, our popular Inspectors Panel, and programs focused on marketing, strategic operations and sales, and We awarded more than 20 new NARI certifications and offered educational programs on indoor air quality, recycling construction waste. While we were pleased to continue our track record of offering best in class programs and services, we were most proud to launch our newest event The Youth Remodeling Career Day. Key to the success of our industry is attracting new skilled workers. On October 18 th we hosted nearly 500 high school students from trade and technical schools around the Commonwealth. These students spent the day with NARI members engaged in hands on building activities, informational demonstrations, mock interviews, great speakers and much more. Our hope was to connect students with leading remodeling businesses in the area and spark an interest in a career in our industry. The energy from the day was infectious and we are already excited to begin plans for As always, we will continue to serve our industry by providing excellent programs and educational offerings, connecting members with colleagues to share best practices, and creating new opportunities that will help our members and their businesses grow. 3 The Value of EM NARI Membership E D U C A T I O N C O N N E C T I O N S E X C E L L E N C E ABOUT EM NARI: Founded in the 1980 s, the Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of NARI, Inc. (EM NARI) is dedicated to serving the professional remodeling industry. We focus on providing programs that help our region s remodelers grow their businesses and provide the highest levels of quality to their clients. Our members at EM NARI are comprised of professional remodeling contractors and the vendors, sub-contractors and suppliers that serve them. EM NARI is part of the National NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) organization. NARI is comprised of more than 50 chapters across the U.S. representing nearly 7,000 companies and approximately 100,000 remodeling professionals. QUICK FACTS: EM NARI is a non-profit 501(c)6 membership association based in Newton Centre, Massachusetts. Our members include over 1,000 remodeling industry professionals representing nearly 200 New England businesses. The majority of EM NARI member organizations are headquartered around the Boston, MA area - although Southern New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Cape Cod and locations as far west as Springfield, MA are represented. Our chapter meets monthly to network and learn about the latest industry trends and insights. Membership meetings often average members in attendance. Our chapter has certified over 150 industry professionals across 9 programs. Our chapter hosts a local Contractor of the Year Awards competition annually where members compete for recognition in 20 project categories. EM NARI also hosts an annual golf tournament, networking events, and educational seminars throughout the year that offer great opportunities to connect and engage with colleagues. I began my involvement with EMNARI in the late 90 s and have been a member ever since. I found NARI when I was searching for ways to learn about business and expand both my personal and company s professional development. My membership and involvement has been invaluable in this quest. I have earned three NARI certifications personally and had 5 employees achieve certifications over the years.
