2 July 20, 2009 Dear Sir/Madam, On behalf of the students from the Under the Banyan Tree Centre for the Developmentally Disabled (UTBT Centre), I am seeking for your support in our Banyan Gala The gala will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at the Premiere Ballroom & Convention, Richmond Hill. The objective of this fundraising event is to realize our dream, The Banyan Paradigm; a with developmental disabilities in our community. Our fundraising goal for this event is $80,000, which is part of the $500,000 needed as seed funding to create the new treatment centre and for the centre s operating costs. This organization has been serving individuals with developmental disabilities since 1997, when founded it as a private communitybased service centre. In December 2003, the Centre became a registered charity in the interests of securing better funding and programming resources for its clientele. However, the Centre still continues to rely heavily on program fees to support the Centre s operating costs. Our mission is to ensure that individuals with developmental disabilities live an independent and enriched life in the community; we strive to promote and enhance their personal well-being through a range of community-based training programs and support services.
