1. Ag Machinery Industry in China China has made great achievements in agriculture Agriculture is the strategic industry of ensuring the social stability and economic development To guarantee the food security and agro-products effective supply has been the national strategic target China has successfully solved the problem of food self- sufficiency for the 22% of the world population with 7% world farmland Agricultural mechanization makes great contributions The fundamental way out for agriculture lies in mechanization Chairman MAO

1. Ag Machinery Industry in China Chinese government paid much attention to agriculture and provided the subsidy for Ag machinery buying 21,500 Million CNY 2012

1. Ag Machinery Industry in China Ag machinery industry has become the most vigorous one The output of agriculture machinery increased 10-year continuously Agricultural mechanization level was over 57% Total power of farm machinery was over one billion kw By 2020, the agricultural mechanization level will be over 65% The total power of farm machinery will be over 1.2 billion kw Mrmb Agriculture Mechinery Output

1. Ag Machinery Industry in China Main products of agricultural machinery Corn harvesters: 100,574 sets Large tractors: 56,004 sets Post-harvest-processing machines: 429,907 sets Small tractors: Cotton processing machinery: million 32,578 sets China has become the world No.1 Ag machinery manufacturer and user As the world biggest market, the Ag machinery standardization will be more and more important

China Ag Machinery Safety Standards The categories of all Safety Standards: Type-A, Type-B, Type-C Type-C: Standards (machinery safety standards) dealing with detailed safety requirements for a particular machine or group of machines Ag machinery standards belong to Type-C in China

China Ag Machinery Safety Standards GB 10395, GB 16151, GB and GB10396 standards There are 50 ag machinery safety standards. The ISO or EN standards were partly adopted into 45 ones. 5 are in developing

Adoption of international Ag machinery standards Industry ISO standards Number of adoption Adopted IDT MOD Adopted rate Ag machinery % Tractor % Total % After 50 years of development, Chinese Ag machinery standards are basically in line with the international standards

3. International Cooperation on Ag Machinery Standardization Collaboration with ASABE Prof. Shujun LI and Mr. Ron Yoder ASABE President Signed MOU on Ag Machinery Standards collaboration in Jan Mr. Douglas Durant, Chair of ASABE Standards Council, visited CAAMS and gave a training to the Chinese technicians on May 25, 2010

3. International Cooperation on Ag Machinery Standardization Working closely with the international partners Ag machinery standards parallel session of an International Conference in Oct. 2010, Shanghai, China Mr. Randy Renze, Project Manager of Product Safety Standards of John Deere, US Representative of ISO/TC 23/SC 6, visited CAAMS, China in 2011

3. International Cooperation on Ag Machinery Standardization Actively participated in ISO working meetings and activities Hosted ISO/TC23/SC6 working meeting in CAAMS, China in Sept Attended ISO/TC23, SC2, Sc12, SC14 working meetings in US in June 2013

4. Future Prospects of Ag Machinery Standardization Encourage more Chinese experts to join in ISO working groups, to develop and revise international standards. to participate in ISO meetings and activities. Propose more international standards projects to promote the appropriate Chinese standards adopted by ISO. Invite more ISO meetings and activities to be held in China. Promote more ISO standards adopted by China. Welcome secretariats of existed and newly established sub-committees of ISO/TC 23 to have offices in China. Develop all kinds of collaboration with other countries in the world in ag machinery standards.
