It consists of 4 sections. In Section 1, general information about agriculture of Georgia is presented such as number of agricultural holdings, rural population, share of agriculture in GDP, structure of agricultural output and volume indices, use of agricultural land, use of fertilizers and pesticides, etc. Section 2 presents, on nationwide and regional levels, the data on areas under annual and permanent crops, crop production and yield, while Section 3 presents the data on animal production and livestock numbers. Section 4 presents food balance sheets (supply and utilization) for total cereals, wheat, maize, potato, vegetables, grape, vegetable oil, sugar, total meat, beef, pork, sheep and goat meat, poultry meat, milk and milk products and eggs. Information is presented as quite long time series, some of which cover the Soviet period as well. Unlike the previous issues, in the issues of the years 2006, 2007 and 2008 information on crop growing and livestock husbandry is not presented on the district level. This is caused by the change of information source. Until 2006, the main source of information was the data provided by statistician-enumerators of local sakrebulos (communities), which made it possible to obtain the aggregated information at the district level. After the reform of local governance carried out in autumn of 2006, the institute of statistician-enumerators was abolished, and the main source of information on agriculture from 2006 is the sample survey of agricultural holdings whose first round was carried out in February The sample size (about holdings) is not sufficient for obtaining reliable information on district level (to this aim the sample size should be increased at least five times) Therefore the data are disaggregated only for 10 of 9
