4 AgriClimateChange & AgriAdapt Agriculture plays a major role in climate change through the emissions of GHG. 15% of global GHG Emissions are produced by agriculture. Especially through: Ruminant digestion: Methane (CH4) Soil processes: Nitrous oxide (N2O) Directly and indirectly through the use of diesel, fertilisers, pesticides (CO2) Climate change is recognised as one of the most serious environmental, societal and economic challenges the world is facing. 6 AgriClimateChange & AgriAdapt Agriculture has the highest exposition to climate change as it depends directly on climatic factors.
