PENGELUARAN Pada Mei 2010, sebanyak 65,254 tan metrik getah asli telah dikeluarkan, naik 10,724 tan metrik (+19.7%) berbanding bulan lepas. Pada masa yang sama, peningkatan sebanyak 5,521 tan metrik (+9.2%) telah dicatat apabila dibanding tahun atas tahun. Sektor kebun kecil menyumbang sebanyak 94.8 peratus dari keseluruhan pengeluaran getah asli manakala sektor estet hanya 5.2 peratus. 1. PRODUCTION A total of 65,254 tonnes of natural rubber (NR) was produced in May 2010, an increase of 10,724 tonnes (+19.7%) when compared to the previous month. Similarly, an increase of 5,521 tonnes (+9.2%) was also recorded when comparing year-on-year. 7 2. EKSPORT Pada Mei 2010, Malaysia mengeksport getah asli sebanyak 64,232 tan metrik, susut 6.2 peratus berbanding bulan lepas. Walau bagaimanapun, bagi tahun atas tahun, eksport meningkat tinggi sebanyak 35.6 peratus. Penyumbang utama eksport getah asli iaitu Getah Mutu Malaysia (G.M.M.) telah mencatat sebanyak 61,292 tan metrik dan 50.3 peratus daripada jumlah ini adalah jenis G.M.M. 20. Destinasi utama getah asli Malaysia adalah China (33.0%) diikuti oleh Jerman (13.3%), Republik Korea (7.6%), Amerika Syarikat (5.5%), Portugal (3.3%), Belanda (3.2%), Republik Iran (3.1%), Brazil (3.1%) dan Finland (2.3%). 2. EXPORTS Malaysia exported 64,232 tonnes of NR in May 2010, a decrease of 6.2 per cent when compared to the previous month. However, year-on-year, exports rose strongly by 35.6 per cent. Standard Malaysian Rubber (S.M.R.), the main type of NR exported recorded 61,292 tonnes of which 50.3 per cent was S.M.R 20. The major destinations of Malaysia s NR was China ( 33.0%) followed by Germany (13.3%), Republic of Korea (7.6%), U.S.A. (5.5%), Portugal (3.3%), Netherlands (3.2%), Republic of Iran (3.1%), Brazil (3.1%) and Finland (2.3%). IMPORT Malaysia telah mengimport getah asli sebanyak 49,734 tan metrik pada Mei Kenaikan kecil sebanyak 0.8 peratus telah dicatat apabila dibanding bulan atas bulan, manakala bagi tahun atas tahun, import jatuh 15.7 peratus. Lateks pekat masih merupakan jenis getah utama yang diimport dan berjumlah 57.5 peratus daripada keseluruhan import getah asli. Pembekal utama getah asli ke Malaysia adalah Thailand (74.7%), Myanmar (4.9%), Vietnam (4.0%), Filipina (4.0%) dan Indonesia (3.3%). Jumlah import dari kelima-lima negara ini merangkumi 90.9 peratus daripada keseluruhan import getah asli. 3. IMPORTS Malaysia imported 49,734 tonnes of NR in May A marginal increase of 0.8 per cent was recorded when compared month-on-month, while year-on-year, imports reduced by 15.7 per cent. Latex concentrate still remained as the main type of rubber imported and accounted for 57.5 per cent of total imports. The main countries of NR imports were Thailand (74.7%), Myanmar (4.9%), Vietnam (4.0%), Philippines (4.0%) and Indonesia (3.3%). These countries accounted for 90.9 per cent of total imports. 9 4. PENGGUNAAN DOMESTIK Penggunaan domestik getah asli pada Mei 2010 dicatat sebanyak 40,562 tan metrik, bertambah 7.9 peratus berbanding bulan lepas. Walau bagimanapun, perbandingan tahun atas tahun menunjukkan penyusutan sebanyak 1.6 peratus. Sarung tangan getah masih merupakan industri tertinggi menggunakan getah asli (69.6%) diikuti dengan benang getah (10.7%) serta tayar dan tiub (7.3%). Ketiga-tiga industri ini telah mengguna sebanyak 35,539 tan metrik (87.6%) dari keseluruhan penggunaan getah asli. 4. DOMESTIC CONSUMPTION In May 2010, domestic consumption of NR recorded 40,562 tonnes, an increase of 7.9 per cent when compared with the previous month. However, year-on-year comparison showed a decrease of 1.6 per cent. Rubber gloves was still the main NR consuming industry (69.6%) followed by rubber thread (10.7%) as well as tyres and tubes (7.3%). These three industries consumed 35,539 tonnes (87.6%) of total domestic consumption of NR. 10 5. STOK Paras stok getah asli jatuh 17,782 tan metrik (-12.8%) kepada 120,731 tan metrik pada Mei 2010 apabila dibandingkan dengan paras stok pada akhir bulan lepas. Walau bagaimanapun, perbandingan tahun atas tahun pula menunjukkan paras stok getah asli naik 13.9 peratus. Sebahagian besar dari stok getah asli dipegang oleh Pemproses Getah (88.7%). 5. STOCKS The level of stocks of NR decreased by 17,782 tonnes (-12.8%) to 120,731 tonnes in May 2010 when compared to the level of stocks of the previous month. However, year-on-year comparison showed that the stock level went up by 13.9 per cent. Most of NR stocks was held by Rubber Processors (88.7%). 11 6. HARGA PURATA BULANAN SEKILOGRAM (Sebut Harga Pada Waktu Tengah Hari F.O.B. ) Pada Mei 2010, purata harga getah jatuh berbanding bulan lepas. Purata harga lateks pekat turun sebanyak 7.2 peratus kepada sen manakala harga G.M.M. 20 pula jatuh sebanyak 12.0 peratus kepada sen. Namun begitu, bagi tahun atas tahun, purata harga getah masih kukuh dengan kenaikan masing-masing sebanyak 69.5 peratus dan 63.5 peratus bagi lateks pekat dan G.M.M AVERAGE MONTHLY PRICE PER KILOGRAM (Noon Quotations F.O.B. ) In May 2010, the average price of rubber fell when compared to the previous month. The average price of latex concentrate dropped by 7.2 per cent to sen whereas the average price of S.M.R. 20 dropped by 12.0 per cent to sen. 12 7. GUNA TENAGA 7. EMPLOYMENT Seramai 10,447 pekerja telah diambil bekerja di estet getah pada akhir Mei 2010 yang mana bilangan pekerja bergaji adalah sebanyak 10,445 orang dengan bayaran gaji & upah berjumlah RM8.3 juta. Jumlah pekerja bergaji menyusut 0.3 peratus apabila dibanding dengan bulan lepas manakala tahun atas tahun ianya juga berkurangan sebanyak 2.9 peratus. A total number of 10,477 workers were engaged in rubber estates in May 2010 where the number of paid employees were 10,445 persons with RM8.3 million paid as salaries & wages. Total employees dropped 0.3 per cent when compared with the previous month whereas year-on-year, it was also less by 2.9 per cent. PRODUKTIVITI Pada Mei 2010, produktiviti pengeluaran getah asli di estet adalah sebanyak 81.6 kilogram sehektar, meningkat 33.1 peratus daripada bulan lepas manakala bagi tahun atas tahun pula, produktiviti turun sebanyak 26.2 peratus. 8. PRODUCTIVITY In May 2010, the productivity for NR production on estate was 81.6 kilogram per hectare, an increase of 33.1 per cent from the previous month whilst year-on-year, the productivity decreased by 26.2 per cent. 14 9. PERANGKAAN UTAMA 9. PRINCIPAL STATISTICS Jadual 1 menunjukkan perangkaan utama getah bagi Mei 2010 serta perbandingan bulan atas bulan dan tahun atas tahun manakala Carta 12 siri masa bulanan. Table 1 presents the principal statistics of rubber for May 2010 together with month-onmonth and year-on-year comparison while Chart 12 shows the monthly time series. 16 Nota 1. Pengenalan 1.1 Mulai Januari 2004, laporan Perangkaan Getah Bulanan Malaysia diterbit berdasarkan format baru termasuk juga liputan yang terkini. Pendekatan baru yang diguna pakai adalah berdasarkan data yang diperoleh daripada Banci Estet Getah (RE), Pemproses Getah (RP) dan Pengguna Getah (RC). 1.2 Maklumat tambahan di dalam penerbitan ini termasuk stok getah mengikut pemilikan, harga mengikut kategori getah dan produktiviti estet getah di Malaysia. 2. Kajian Data Pengeluaran Getah, Pada pertengahan tahun 2003, Jabatan Perangkaan Malaysia (JPM) bersama-sama dengan Lembaga Getah Malaysia (LGM) telah mengadakan perbincangan untuk menambahbaik kaedah pengumpulan data bagi pengeluaran getah asli. 2.2 Kajian telah dijalankan dengan menggunakan data daripada borang soal selidik RD 1A (Banci Peniaga Getah) dengan memberi tumpuan kepada 89 buah kilang memproses getah. Borang soal selidik telah dihantar kepada 89 buah kilang memproses tersebut untuk mendapatkan maklumat berkenaan dengan pembelian getah mentah tempatan yang sebenar. 2.3 Memandangkan hasil yang diperoleh adalah amat positif, mulai tahun 2004, borang soal selidik baru iaitu Banci Pemproses Getah (RP) telah diperkenalkan bagi menggantikan Banci Peniaga Getah (RD 1A). Liputan rangka banci telah berkurang daripada sejumlah 1,961 peniaga getah kepada hanya 91 pemproses getah sahaja. Borang Banci Estet Getah Bulanan (RM) dan Banci Pengguna Getah (RC) juga turut diubahsuai mengikut perkembangan industri getah masa kini. 3. Penyediaan Data Dalam Perangkaan Getah Bulanan 3.1 Data Pengeluaran Mulai Januari 2004, data pengeluaran getah diperoleh daripada borang Banci Pemproses Getah (RP). Penjanaan data pengeluaran tersebut dibuat dengan andaian bahawa semua getah mentah akan sampai ke kilang proses untuk menghasilkan barangan separa siap

17 3.2 Data Pengeluaran Mengikut Negeri Dengan pengambilan data pengeluaran getah asli Malaysia dari kilangkilang memproses getah, data-data pengeluaran mengikut negeri tidak dapat ditunjukkan. Ini disebabkan kilang-kilang yang di dalam liputan banci, menerima/membeli getah mentah daripada negeri-negeri lain di luar tempat lokasi kilang tersebut berada. Dengan yang demikian, data yang diperoleh tidak dapat menggambarkan data pengeluaran bagi negeri tersebut. 3.3 Penggunaan Domestik Penggunaan domestik getah asli bagi tempoh yang dipaparkan dalam penerbitan ini diambil daripada Penyiasatan Pengguna Getah yang dijalankan oleh LGM. Namun, mulai Januari 2004, data penggunaan domestik tersebut diperoleh daripada soal selidik RC yang dilaksanakan oleh JPM. 3.4 Stok Akhir Stok Akhir getah diambil daripada Estet Getah (RE) bagi stok getah yang terdapat di estet, Pemproses Getah (RP) bagi stok getah yang belum dan sudah diproses dan Pengguna Getah (RC) bagi stok getah yang belum digunakan untuk menghasilkan barangan siap. 3.5 Harga Getah Mulai bulan Januari 2004, harga bagi GAB 1 tidak lagi di kumpul oleh LGM. Namun penerbitan ini mempamerkan harga bagi setiap kategori getah iaitu daripada getah mentah hingga ke getah separa siap. 3.6 Produktiviti Hasil Ditoreh Mulai Januari 2004, data bagi produktiviti hasil ditoreh bagi estet getah di Malaysia telah dimasukkan dalam laporan ini. Maklumat tersebut dapat memberikan gambaran produktiviti hasil ditoreh bagi bulan rujukan di samping produktiviti pekerja-pekerja estet di Malaysia. Produktiviti hasil ditoreh dikira dengan membahagikan jumlah pengeluaran dengan keluasan ditoreh pada bulan rujukan

18 NOTES 1. Introduction 1.1 Beginning January 2004, the report, Monthly Rubber Statistics Malaysia, is released based on a new format as well as an updated coverage. The new approach adopted was based on data obtained from the Census of Rubber Estates (RE), Rubber Processors (RP) and Rubber Consumers (RC). 1.2 Additional information in this publication includes stocks of rubber by ownership, price by category of rubber and productivity of rubber estates in Malaysia. 2. Study on Rubber Production Data, In mid 2003, the Department of Statistics (DOS), Malaysia together with the Malaysian Rubber Board (MRB) held discussions to improve on the methods to collect data on production of natural rubber. 2.2 A study was conducted using data from the RD 1A (Census of Rubber Dealers) questionnaire with special attention focused on 89 rubber processing factories. A questionnaire was sent out to the 89 processing factories to obtain information relating to the actual purchase of local raw rubber. 2.3 As the outcome of the study was very positive, beginning 2004, a new questionnaire, namely Census of Rubber Processors (RP) was introduced to replace the Census of Rubber Dealers (RD 1A). The coverage of the census was reduced from a total of 1,961 rubber dealers to only 91 rubber processors. The questionnaires on the Monthly Census of Rubber Estates (RM) and the Monthly Census of Rubber Consumers (RC) were also amended in accordance with the latest development in the rubber industry. 3. Data Compilation for Monthly Rubber Statistics 3.1 Data on Production Beginning January 2004, data on rubber production was derived from the RP questionnaire. It was made on the assumption that all raw rubber produced locally will eventually reach the processing factories to be produced into semi-finished goods

19 3.2 Production Data by State By compiling data on production of Malaysian natural rubber from the rubber processing factories, data on production by state could not be shown. This is because the factories under the census coverage also received/bought raw rubber from other states outside the location of the factories. As such the data compiled did not reflect production data of a particular state. 3.3 Domestic Consumption Domestic consumption of rubber for the period presented in this publication was obtained from the Rubber Consumers Survey conducted by MRB. However, beginning January 2004, the data on domestic consumption is derived from the RC questionnaire conducted by DOS. 3.4 Stocks of Rubber Stocks of rubber was derived from Rubber Estates (RE) for stocks of rubber in estates, Rubber Processors (RP) for stocks of rubber before and after process and Rubber Consumers (RC) for stocks of rubber not yet used to produce finished products. 3.5 Rubber Price Beginning January 2004, the price for RSS 1 was not collected by the MRB. Nevertheless, the publication presents price for each category of rubber, i.e. from raw rubber to semi-finished rubber. 3.6 Productivity on Yield Tapped Beginning January 2004, data for productivity on yield tapped for rubber estates is included in this report. This information reflects the productivity of yield tapped for the reference month, together with the estate workers productivity in Malaysia. The productivity on yield tapped is derived by dividing the total production by the total area tapped during the reference month
