As a result of this tendering process we use products developed by Orion and Dow. The department also widely uses products containing Clopyralid, Picloram & Triclopyr from a range of agrichemical companies, but to a lesser extent. The department occasionally uses other herbicides (listed in the NZ Agrichem manual) on small scale. The following herbicides are used (active ingredients are listed with example brand names in brackets): Glyphosate (Roundup, etc), Metsulfuron-methyl (Escort, Matrix, etc), Triclopyr/ picloram (Tordon brushkiller, etc), Triclopyr (Grazon,etc), Picloram gel (Vigilant, etc), Picloram prills (Tordon 2g, etc) -all commonly used. Haloxyfop (Gallant, etc), clopyralid (Versatill, etc), Endothal (Aquathol) -all used on a small scale for controlling specific species, e.g. marram, selaginella, lagarosiphon. Animal pest control: Potassium cyanide, sodium cyanide,, diphacinone. There are many small applications of brodifacoum around huts throughout West Coast. Other: Nil

Used for weed infestations throughout the conservancy according to label instructions.
