5 Introduction The livestock sector contributes to the diversification of income sources, food security and job creation, it also provides some households needs (within the secondary activities), where many households raise animals to meet their needs and sell the surplus. The livestock sector, which includes livestock, commercial farms and fisheries, pays a great attention to breeding using advanced methods, especially in poultry and cattle breeding. The sector also contributes to the national income. This bulletin highlights in details the fields related to the livestock sector; it includes a large number of significant indicators that help to study and analyze trends in the sector. This will help to create future plans and strategies to achieve sustainable development in line with Abu Dhabi Vision 23. The second edition of the bulletin includes detailed data on livestock numbers by type, gender and age groups, it also provide data on commercial farms, which are classified into cattle farms, broiler chicken farms, layers chicken farms and mother hens farms. A farm may specialize in one type or more of livestock production. This publication contains data on fisheries, which is one of the most important subactivities in the sector. Livestock Statistics

Livestock Statistics The livestock sector is regarded as one of the pillars of development and integration in the emirate of Abu Dhabi, and one of the most important activities of the agricultural sector in emirate of Abu Dhabi. The statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (SCAD) was covetous to follow the latest statistical methodologies in data collection and processing and in estimating indicators related to livestock. These indicators are of great importance for policy formulation, and the preparation of future plans and programs to meet the increasing demand on livestock production due to population growth, and consequently to bridge the gap between production and consumption to adjust the balance of trade. This bulletin includes the results of livestock number by type, and region, and it includes data about of the commercial farm 24. Livestock Statistics

Commercial Farms Statistics The advancement of the livestock sector one of the most important goals in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to its relationship to food security, and increase economic returns to the agricultural sector. The commercial farms Include, all farms specialized production of one or more livestock products, are available where the buildings and the necessary tools for animal husbandry, and in view of the importance of commercial farms, and few in number and accessibility, as well as to provide a comprehensive framework it has been collecting data using the method of the transect, and divided commercial farms by type of animals bred to cattle-breeding farms, and farms for rearing broiler chickens of all kinds, broiler, layer and parents stock farms. Fish Production Statistics Fisheries is one of the most important sub-activities in the agricultural sector, as it contributes to the employment of labor and provides a decent life for a number of residents in the coastal areas, in addition to providing essential products for food consumption in the Emirate. The global demand for fish is steadily increasing with the expectation it will continue to rise due to population growth and rising incomes. The Emirate of Abu Dhabi enjoys a costal line that exceeds, kilometers, accommodating various marine life. The UAE territorial water contains more than 2 islands of various size and historical and economic importance. The amount of fish caught in 24 totaled 4,29 tons, indecrease of.% compared with 23. The estimated value of fish production amounted to about AED 5.6 million and it was caught in around 23,43 fishing trips, including 82% with tarad and 8% with lansh. Scombridae accounted for the highest value of caught fish, with AED 44. million or 4.7% of the total value of the catch in 24. This was followed by Epinephelidae worth 3. million dirhams or 28.4%, Lethrinidae with AED 2.2 million or.5% and Carangidae with AED 9.6 million or 9.% of the total value of catch in 24.
