I enjoy community service, having worked with: farmers, youth and as a peer counselor since I am fluent in Spoken and Written English and Kiswahili and currently learning Dutch (past Niveau A2). RECENT WORK AND RESEARCH-RELATED EXPERIENCE Lecturer. January 2003 todate. Zoology Department, Kenyatta University. My duties include lecturing and involvement in research through student project supervisions and farmers groups. Warden February 2013 todate. Kenyatta University. I mentor, counsel and educate female students on matters to do with sexual health and social relationships that impact on their studies. Journal Reviewer: August Reviewed a paper for the Journal of Agriculture and Environment. I am currently also enlisted for any other upcoming appropriate papers. Research Assistant. November January The International Center for Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE).My duties included: - Writing and reviewing publication papers, reports and proposals, assisting Masters students in Integrated Pest Management laboratory and fieldwork, and assisting in other general administrative and research work. Collecting agriculture based data in collaboration with farmers. Project Facilitator. January 2002 to With Kids Hope Rescue Mission, Thika Branch. I participated in training of HIV/AIDS Counselors (on part time basis) in order to rehabilitate former street children and commercial sex workers.

2 Peer Counselor to Kenyatta University. My responsibilities included sensitizing my colleagues on responsible behavior and advocating for gender sensitivity. We used such tools as public addresses, door to door information dissemination and write-ups e.g. magazines and posters. Trainer of Farmers FORMAT Kenya. I worked on part time basis with this Non Governmental Organization which trained smallholder subsistent farmers on best practices based on findings of university research in order to improve their agricultural productivity and thus family livelihoods. Duties included planning for media coverage of any major events, take notes with reporters and organize for their publishing in the daily newspapers. Biology Tutor.
