2 FUTURE: A few years ago we made it known that we were considering a name change. Although the Rainbow brand name has served us well over the years, it has become synonymous with many other organizations. We wanted a name that was immediately recognizable as an elite agricultural product, and after a great deal of research and discussion we have decided on a name. It is a name that not only represents the resilience of our family history, but also the quality of the products we offer. DuraCrop is the name we have trademarked and it will remain exclusive to us. Our goal is to make a smooth transition to the DuraCrop brand name to assure our existing customers we are still the same company owned and operated by the same five generations of knowledge. Our intent with this change is to modernize our image and become more appealing to new customers. As we continue to grow and diversify to better serve the agricultural industry, we look forward to continuing to work together with you, and trust that you are as excited as we are about the future. PAST: In the fall of 1903, brothers Newt and Willis Krizer harvested their first crop of open pollinated corn for seed. This seed was originally sold under the name Krizer Brothers. Newt and wife Luella were very flamboyant individuals. They turned their home into a showcase for all to see, and socialized with friends and customers alike. The Brothers key to success was their commitment to improving the seed. Newt developed a lot of his own processing equipment. He also consulted with plant breeders E.W. Daubet and George Wallace to gain an understanding of modern corn hybridization. In 1926 Newt and Lou s daughter Lucile married George N. Pierson, our grandfather. With the change in family and technology came a change in name, Krizer Hybrids, America s Choice. George and Lucy persevered through some mighty tough times. They survived fire, flood, The Dust Bowl, The Depression, and The Locust (ok they were grasshoppers). Nevertheless, they managed to build another seed plant, and improve the quality and performance of their Hybrid Seed Corn. George and Lucy s most important contribution to the business were two sons, Royce and Shorty. In 1956 Royce and Arvid (Shorty) returned from military service, full of enthusiasm and ideas; they were ready to make things happen. The profitable post-war era allowed many changes and they were ready. They custom produced and packaged seed for several large companies. Trojan Seed Co. took over the Krizer sales and Royce and Shorty grew the seed and serviced the customers. With their three generations of knowledge about the seed industry, they were an integral part of Trojan s success. Trojan went on to become Pfizer Genetics, and is now a part of the Pfizer/Dekalb group. Royce and Shorty also produced parent seed for many years. Parent seed production is the highest level of on-farm seed production. It requires impeccable attention to detail, near perfect purity, and state of the art equipment for conditioning. At this point in time Scott and Brent (Royce and Shorty s sons) entered the business. Our knowledge of Parent Seed production and processing is evident in the quality and purity of the seed we sell today. We are proud of our heritage and the contribution our family has made to the vital farming industry. PRESENT: Our genetics continue to expand as time goes by. The 5th generation in the family, Joe Pierson has been taking to the leadership role very quickly. In the process of working and growing up in the company, Joe has taken on several key roles within DuraCrop. He handles most of the warehousing, shipping, and runs our germination and trait testing program. He also has his own base of retail sales customers. Today genetics are changing faster than ever with variety selections in corn and soybeans. Genetics selections and traits options continue to increase at a staggering pace because of improved research and development. To create a new variety of corn in the past was a 5 7 year process of growing and selecting plants with the desired characteristics. Today that process has been reduced significantly with gene markers and DNA testing allowing new varieties to increase at an amazing rate. Other incredible changes in the seed industry are seed treatments and the equipment required to apply them. Fungicides, along with insecticides, are a standard on the seed delivered to your farm today. They provide a level of protection that insures optimal stands when planted in normal growing conditions. We have been here for it all. You will benefit from five generations of knowledge, experience and expertise

Agrisure Duracade protects yield potential by controlling Western, Northern and Mexican corn rootworm. Additionally, all hybrids containing Agrisure Duracade feature a 5 percent, single-bag refuge that offers the convenience of not having to manage separate refuge acres. * All corn varieties from DuraCrop come treated with Cruiser 250, a $15.00 value * Monsanto Company is a member of Excellence Through Stewardship (ETS). Monsanto products are commercialized in accordance with ETS Product Launch Stewardship Guidance, and in compliance with Monsanto s Policy for Commercialization of Bio - technology-derived Plant Products in Commodity Crops. Only commercialized products have been approved for import into key export markets with functioning regulatory systems. Any crop or material produced from this product can only be exported to, or used, processed or sold in countries where all necessary regulatory approvals have been granted. It is a violation of national and international law to move material containing biotech traits across boundaries into nations where import is not permitted. Growers should talk to their grain handler or product purchaser to confirm their buying position for this product. Excellence Through Stewardship is a registered trademark of Biotechnology Industry Organization. An on-seed application of a combination of Cruiser 5FS insecticide (0.25 mg a.i./seed of thiamethoxam) and Maxim Quattro seed-applied fungicide, CruiserMaxx Corn 250 insecticide/fungicide seed treatment protects corn seed and seedlings against earlyseason insects and seedborne and soilborne disease leading to increased plant stand, uniformity, vigor and yield potential. Before opening a bag of seed, be sure to read and understand the stewardship requirements, including applicable refuge requirements for insect resistance management, for the biotechnology traits expressed in the seed set forth in the technology agreement that you sign. By opening and using a bag of seed, you are reaffirming your obligation to comply with the most recent stewardship requirements B.t. products may not yet be registered in all states. Check with your Monsanto representative for the registration status in your state. ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW PESTICIDE LABEL DIRECTIONS. Roundup Ready crops contain genes that confer tolerance to glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup brand agricultural herbicides. Roundup brand agricultural herbicides will kill crops that are not tolerant to glyphosate. HERCULEX Refuge Requirements Refuge should be established as follows: On each farm, plant at least 20% of corn acres with non-bt corn. The non-bt corn can be treated with insecticides only when the level of pest pressure meets or exceeds economic thresholds. Sprayable Bt insecticides must not be applied to the non-bt refuge corn. Plant the refuge (non-bt corn) within, adjacent to, or near Bt corn borer fields. The refuge must be placed within 1/2 mile of the Bt corn borer field (1/4 mile or closer preferred). HERCULEX I corn contains a gene making it tolerant ONLY to glufosinate ammonium herbicides such as Liberty herbicide from Bayer. This herbicide resistance gene will NOT safeguard this hybrid against application of other herbicides. ACCIDENTAL APPLICATION OF OTHER HERBICIDES TO THIS HYBRID COULD RESULT IN TOTAL CROP LOSS. LibertyLink Patent Statement: Soybean seeds containing LibertyLink are protected under multiple U.S. patents and may be planted only to produce one (1) commercial crop, and only after signing a Bayer Grower Technology Agreement. It is illegal to save or catch soybean seeds containing the LibertyLink trait for use as planting seed or for transfer to others for use as planting seed.
