Mass transfer, surface area, toxicity, safety? Proprietary reactor vs off-the-shelf? Product performance: All SCPs are not equivalent! Target species, product profile, inclusion level, digestability, nutritional value, palatability. Regulatory approval: Approvals are not generic. Approval bodies will assess potential pathogenicity (species name). New products require extensive safety testing. Commercial scale-up: How to cross the valley of death? 14
