Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions the registration holder does not warrant that it will be efficacious under all conditions because the action and effect thereof may be affected by factors such as abnormal soil, climatic and storage conditions; quality of dilution water; compatibility with other substances not indicated on the label and the occurrence of resistance of the weeds against the remedy concerned as well as by the method, time and accuracy of application. The registration holder furthermore does not accept responsibility for damage to crops, vegetation, the environment or harm to man or animal or for lack of performance of the remedy concerned due to failure of the user to follow the label instructions or to the occurrence of conditions which could not have been foreseen in terms of the registration. Consult the supplier or registration holder in the event of any uncertainty. PRECAUTIONS Avoid contact with eyes. Avoid contact with skin, or inhalation of spray mist. Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection when the concentrate is handled. Do not eat, drink or smoke while mixing or applying the product or before washing hands and face. Avoid drifting of the spray mixtures to other crops, grazing areas, rivers or dams or any other area that is not under treatment. Clean applicator after use and dispose of wash water where it will not contaminate crops, grazing, rivers or dams. DROPZONE 500 WP/March2014 2

3 Perforate and flatten the empty container. Plastic bags should be recycled or burnt. Do not reuse for any other purpose. Re-entry interval: Do not enter treated area within 1 day after treatment unless wearing protective clothing. SYMPTOMS OF HUMAN POISONING Symptoms of overexposure to the active ingredient include loss of motor co-ordination, lacrimation, bloody tears, oral and nasal discharge, bloody nose, irregular breathing, hair loss, salivation and bulging eyes. FIRST AID TREATMENT Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash away remainder with soap and water. Eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water with the eyelid held wide open for at least 15 minutes. Inhalation: Remove victim to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, artificial respiration. Get medical attention. Ingestion: Rinse mouth out with water. Do not induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately. If the person is fully conscious, make him/her drink water. Never give an unconscious person anything to drink. NOTE TO PHYSICIAN There is no specific antidote. Treat symptomatically and give supportive therapy. RESISTANCE WARNING DROPZONE 500 WP is a group code F3 and C1 herbicide. Any population of a specific weed may contain individuals which have a natural resistance against clomazone and/or hexazinone or other group code F3 and C1 herbicides. If these herbicides are used repeatedly the resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population. To delay the occurrence of resistance the following can be done: 1) Avoid the repeated exclusive use of herbicides in the same group code. Alternate with or tank mix with herbicides from other group codes. 2) Integrate with other methods of control (chemical, biological and cultural) in weed control programmes. For specific information regarding the management of resistance contact the registration holder of this product. USE RESTRICTIONS General: A temporary whitening of the leaves of the sugarcane plant usually occurs even when the application is made before cane emergence. The white bleaching effect is temporary, disappears completely and does not reoccur. DROPZONE 500 WP is non-volatile and peripheral damage to non-target plants will only occur from physical drift of the spray solution. To prevent spray drift, use the appropriate nozzle size to deliver the desired spray volume at the lowest spray pressure. Do not plant any other crops except sugar cane for 12 months after a DROPZONE 500 WP containing treatment has been applied. Avoid soils with less than 0.5 % organic matter, greater than 60 % sand, and a water table that is less than 2 m below the surface. Avoid double application in one season and overlapping spray swaths. NOTE : extra precaution should be taken to ensure uniform spray application particularly on field edges where knapsack operators and tractor booms tend to slow down and overapply. 4 Although DROPZONE 500 WP has been tested on the some important sugarcane cultivars, more herbicide sensitive cultivars may exist or become available in the future. It is therefore recommended that a small scale test be conducted in the case of newly released cultivars before large scale applications. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Use only as directed. DROPZONE 500 WP is a selective pre-emergence herbicide for the control of important annual grass and broadleaf weeds in sugarcane. If used in mixtures, it is recommended to be applied with registered partner herbicides. DROPZONE 500 WP with DINAMIC 700 WG will improve broadleaf spectrum and increase Cyperus esculentus suppression. NOTE: DROPZONE 500 WP should be applied AS SOON AS POSSIBLE after harvesting before weeds have germinated and the first cane leaves are 10cm high. DROPZONE 500 WP can be applied under both dry or moist soil conditions. COMPATIBILITY DROPZONE 500 WP is compatible with DINAMIC 700 WG (L8692). Do not mix with any other agricultural chemicals. MIXING INSTRUCTIONS Thoroughly clean the sprayer by flushing the system with water containing detergent before spraying. Half fill the spray tank with clean water. Pre-mix the required amount of DROPZONE 500 WP in water (ratio of 2.0 kg DROPZONE 500 WP in 8 litres water) and allow to stand for three minutes. Stir well and pour slowly into the tank. If some residue remains in the container, add more water and stir until all is in suspension, before pouring into the tank. Then fill the tank to the required volume with clean water while agitating continuously to keep the herbicides in suspension. Smaller amounts of DROPZONE 500 WP for individual knapsack spraying should also be premixed in water at the same ratio before use. Spraying should be carried out immediately after mixing and should not be allowed to stand in the spray tank. Refer to the DINAMIC 700 WG (L8692) label when using with DROPZONE 500 WP and adhere to the label instructions. GROUND APPLICATION DROPZONE 500 WP can be applied with conventional ground equipment (tractor mounted sprayers and knapsack sprayers). A uniform and even distribution of the spray material over the target area is essential for effective DROPZONE 500 WP application. Flat fan nozzles are recommended for full cover spraying with tractor mounted rigs, and flood jet nozzles for tractor mounted drop arms and knapsacks. Full cover application should only be done before cane has germinated. Ensure that application equipment is correctly calibrated and that only clean water is used. Apply to a clod-free surface. Thoroughly flush out spraying equipment at the end of the spraying operation. APPLICATION FOR DRYLAND AND IRRIGATED RATOON SUGARCANE For pre-emerge weed control, DROPZONE 500 WP can be used in mixtures with Arysta LifeScience DINAMIC 700 WG. DROPZONE 500 WP/March2014 4

5 DROPZONE 500 WP treatments are not intended for post-emerge weed control. APPLICATION: DROPZONE 500 WP can be applied by means of any suitable medium to high volume applicator, provided that it is fitted with an efficient agitation system, it is able to apply the spray mixture evenly over the target area and it is calibrated correctly. Ensure thorough coverage of the target area by using not less than 200 litres spray mixture per ha.
