Piezorray Non-contact Microarraying System A quantifiable difference Precision arrays for precise demands

High precision array printing technology How would you like to array quantifiable amounts of sample, accurately and consistently? Print proteins, DNA, buffers or other solutions onto microplates, glass slides or any other substrate of your choice? Even recover your precious samples after arraying? With PerkinElmer s Piezorray Non-contact Microarraying System, you get this combination of flexibility and performance for microarray fabrication. It s the only printing technology you need for your most demanding applications! The Piezorray is a flexible non-contact nano-dispensing system that lets you produce high quality, precise and dense arrays in any format for your most demanding genomic and proteomic applications. How? Using patented piezoelectric tip (PiezoTip ) technology, it precisely and accurately dispenses subnanoliter to nanoliter volumes of liquid. Its precision X-Y-Z stage allows for positioning and targeting samples to predefined spots consistently and reproducibly. You get arrays printed quantifiably, spot to spot, slide to slide, plate to plate, time after time. Using Piezorray, you can aspirate fluids out of all kinds of standard plate formats, and dispense onto many substrates, even flat-bottom microplates. Or create arrays on a variety of porous and non-porous substrates, including gel-based or membrane-coated substrates. And for slide-based arrays, you can use our unique HydroGel 3D substrate, especially engineered for protein microarray applications. No other microarraying system is this flexible! PiezoTipnology In Action Cyanine 3-labeled streptavidin printed on an aminosilane glass substrate. Array printed on the bottom of flat bottom micro-well plate. Various cytokines printed on HydroGel 3D slides and treated with labeled anti-cytokine antibody.

for any substrate, any demands Spot Many Types of Samples Expand your possibilities with the Piezorray! Take a look at the list of samples that have been successfully spotted with the Piezorray What would you like to array today? Proteins: Hemoglobin (10 mg/ml) Immunoglobulins (3 mg/ml) BSA and biotin-labeled BSA (2 mg/ml) Streptavidin or Avidin (1 mg/ml) Alkaline phosphatase (1 mg/ml) Cyanine 3, Cyanine 5, Texas Red and Alexa 647 labeled immunoglobulins Peptides (2 kd) (1 mg/ml) Polyclonal antibodies (approx. 150 kd) (3 mg/ml) Buffers and Other Solutions: 0.2 M sodium phosphate, ph 7 9 or 1X PBS 0.15 M sodium phosphate, ph % SDS 0.2 M sodium phosphate, ph M Na Sulfate Up to 40% glycerol 0.1 M Na Acetate, ph mm Na Acetate ph % glycerol 10 mm Na Acetate ph 5, 0.05% NaN % glycerol Up to 100 mm Borax, ph 9.0 Up to 3X SSC, + 5% glycerol Other Potential Applications: Cell lysates Non-sedimenting microspheres and nanospheres Nucleic Acids: Purified PCR products up to 2000 bp in length Dye-labeled dntps and ddntps Lambda phage DNA Texas Red, Cyanine 3, Cyanine 5, TAMRA and Fluorescein-labeled DNA Amine-modified DNA Precision Accuracy Reliability Flexibility

Get perfect spots every time Substrate and Targeting Flexibility Vertical targeting camera option enables precision targeting of samples on many non-conventional substrates and microstructures. Highly quantitative, uniform and reproducible drop morphology and volume Real-time pressure control essentially eliminates variation in liquid dispensing. Detects any drops that are missed during printing, allowing for automated error correction post-printing. Excellent reproducibility within and between arrays Precision X-Y-Z stage with high positioning resolution using computer-controlled robotic system Preserve the integrity of your precious samples Ability to cool the source plate holder Ability to cool the substrate holder Protocol Flexibility Dispense from one source plate to 25 slides or 5 microplates. Customize your microarray printing patterns or generate a different array pattern on each slide/substrate using the same sample source plate. Print using one tip or all 4 tips depending on specific application needs. Easy Set-up Deck-mounted camera enables real-time visualization and verification of drop formation in tip-tuning routines. (Note: only used in tip tuning routine, not in real-time spotting.) Eliminate contamination potential Ultrasonic washbowl in conjunction with internal piezo element-based tip sonication means negligible (less than 0.01%) carryover.

Let powerful software work out the details With a user-friendly interface that drives the powerful software at your fingertips, you can spend your valuable time designing experiments and analyzing data and not on setting up your microarray printing protocol. Control all critical parameters of an array printing protocol with the click of a button. Follow the progress of your array printing in real time including any spots that are missed. Access pre-defined utilities for daily routines such as priming of the dispensers and deep cleaning procedures at the click of button. Wizard-based interface guides you through the array mapping protocol in a stepwise fashion. Custom mapping features gives you the ultimate level of flexibility for sample mapping. This means you can customize any pattern from the same source plate. Error correction feature allows for correcting spots that may have been missed, meaning no more wasted arrays. Tip-tuning has never been so easy with an on-screen real-time video display. Control the drop size and volume easily for your specific application with the voltage and pulse width controls.

High Content Proteomics Get More Meaningful Data from Minimal Sample PerkinElmer s microarray-based proteomics tools automate and streamline the fabrication, processing, and analysis of protein arrays by integrating these key processes into one unified product suite. Arrays are fabricated using the highprecision Piezorray non-contact microarraying system to apply spots onto a wide variety of nonporous and porous substrates, including HydroGel 3D coated slides. Assays are developed and optimized on the ProteinArray Workstation. Multiple arrays are processed on the ProteinArray Workstation and amplified with TSA AUTOMATED Kits. They are then scanned with the industry-standard ScanArray Express family of microarray scanners for rapid image acquisition, analysis and quantification with ProteinArray Analysis Software.
