INTERNATIONAL 13th -14th DECEMBER 2018 VALENCIA CONFERENCE CENTRE SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM ADVANCES IN THE TREATMENT OF DIGESTIVE TUMOURS Under the auspices of Organized by Acredited by Scientific and sanitary interest accredited by SPANISH COOPERATIVE GROUP FOR DIGESTIVE TUMOUR THERAPY Health Professions Continuous Formation Commission fo the Community of Valencia

2 26 INTERNATIONAL INTRODUCTION Dear friend, On behalf of the Digestive Tumour Treatment Group (TTD), we are pleased to invite you to the 26th International Symposium of our group, which this year is being held in Valencia on 13 and 14 December. Year after year, this event has continued to establish itself as a meeting point and reference for all those oncologists and other specialists involved in the research and treatment of digestive tumours. As in previous years, the event will welcome leading professionals from Spain and abroad to review and reach a consensus on the advances in patient care. The programme comprises two tables dedicated to localised colorectal cancer. On the first, we will analyse the possibility of minimising adjuvant treatment and its associated toxicity in colon cancer, while on the rectal cancer table, we will focus on evaluating the response and suitability of subsequent treatment. In addition, the latest advances in hepatobiliary, pancreatic and neuroendocrine tumours will be reviewed from a multidisciplinary perspective. There will also be a keynote speech on the clonal evolution of colon cancer. On the second day, we will address the comprehensive management of gastro-oesophageal tumours and will finish with a review of the treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer, with special emphasis on treatment selection, targeted therapies and the incipient role of immunotherapy. We hope that you find the programme interesting and enjoyable. It will be an honour for us to welcome you to Valencia and benefit from your active participation, which will undoubtedly contribute to increasing the educational value of the symposium. Mª José Safont Andrés Cervantes 2
