3 HAMMER UNION SEAL Description A hammer union comprises of a thread end, a nut end, and a hammer nut. When cinched up, the inside seal will get compressed to prevent any leakage. The seal is usually an O-ring or a Hammer Union Seal (Lip Seal). 4 S-Seal P-Seal S-Seal is a one-piece seal composed of one elastomer and two nti-extrusion springs. It can be used in a high temperature and high pressure environment, like down-hole, wellhead, valves, pipelines, surface equipment, and riser system. The spring in stainless steel is for static applications and the spring in PEEK is recommended for dynamic applications. P-Seal is composed of one rubber ring and two plastic back-up rings. Its cross section provides excellent sealing functions while acting on the rough casing and tubing. FS-Seal Metal Cap Seal FS-Seal is a hybrid design and retrofit of S-Seal and P-Seal. With its unique flexibility, it simplifies the installation and reinforces the sealing function where the large spaces exist between mating parts of wellhead system. Metal cap seal is the combination of elastomer and metal, which can well preserve the rubber s elasticity. It also provides the high performance of the extrusion resistance in the high pressure casing and tubing application. Bonded Seal Casing & Tubing Hanger Packer With elastomer attached to metal, our bonded seals have great durability and sealing ability against high compression environment. This product is mainly used in work-over and sand control operations. An elastomer sealing product that generally contains rectangular cross section, this seal can be customized according to different needs and working condition. It provides excellent sealing performance in tubing or casing. The application with higher required resistance against compression can be strengthened by addition of spring, rubber canvas, or mesh. Vee Ring Packing Valve Stem Packing Vee Ring Packing is composed of two adaptors and multiple V-rings (lips). The more V-rings it has, the higher pressure it can bear. The function of the adaptors is sealing when compressed. This product is mainly applied in high pressure condition. Valve stem packing is usually used in the higher pressure environment than Vee Ring Packing. With the design of adding a spring energized seal, it advances the sealing performance in the application that has higher eccentricity. U-Packing Spring Energized Seal U-Packing is also called Stem Packing that has a U-shaped elastomeric cross section with PTFE covering the outer layer. This product is commonly used on valve gate and wellhead. Spring energized seal provides a solution for severe conditions including wide range of temperature and pressure, ultra low friction, and aggressive chemical abrasion. 5 PACKER ELEMENT Description Packer Element is a standard component of the completion hardware of oil or gas wells used to provide a seal between the outside of the production tubing and the inside of the casing, liner, or wellbore wall. Different materials refer to different range of hardness, temperature, e, or pressure. Here listed the material selection guide for customer to help you make material choices. 6 RGD / ED Resistant Material O-ring & customized molded parts Description High pressure and a sudden pressure drops often lead to broken o-rings if using "normal quality o-rings are used. This condition is called Rapid Gas Decompression (RGD) or Explosive Decompression (ED). For the demanding challenges in the oil and gas application that suffered severe environment, MFC has developed the most technically advanced range of elastomer materials for meeting the needs of sealing operating in these severe conditions. Our RGD / ED compounds have been developed to meet the severe demands imposed upon rubber materials in oil and gas field industry.
