2 Company History 1961 Franz Wimmer Sen. founded the carpentry business Company BREWI with three employees. Through his interest in kayaking, he built kayaks and Canadian canoes in GFK. Extra light and separable Kayaks were developed and produced for expeditions. The way to the Composites Company was born Development and production of the first BREWI surfboards using the innovative hollow constructions technology

3 Company History 1992 Handover the company to Franz Wimmer jun. and founding the Company Kunststoffverarbeitung Wimmer GmbH Through further research and development of new techniques for composites processing were tested and improved

4 Company History 1995 Production of first Motorsports components with GFK and CFK material and wet laminating manufacturing process Purchase of a KUKA milling Robotics for finishing GFK and CFK components First series production of carbon fiber visibility components with self engineered RTM light manufacturing process and polyester resin

5 Company History 2000 Expansion on the Prepreg manufacturing technologie with part hardening in a autoclave. Purchase of a autoclave D= 800mm / L= 1000mm Purchase of a plc-cutting machine for cutting the material plies 2005 Purchase of a big tempering oven Purchase of a further autoclave D= 1250mm / L= 2500 mm Purchase of a 3D measuring machine for quality control

6 Company History 2007 Built up a new production hall with clean-room for layup the prepregs and updating the old production building. Installation of a special grinding room for finishing the components Purchase of a further big autoclaves D= 2600mm / L= 4500mm 2010 Purchase of a FARO measuring machine with scanning function for mobile measuring and Reverse Engineering

7 Company History 2012 Built up a new production hall for Vacuum infusion manufacturing technology. Installation of a new serial production area Purchase of a new autoclave for the serial production area D= 1000mm / L= 2000mm 2013 Purchase of a high accuracy KUKA milling robotic latest generation with offline programming Modus for finishing GFK and CFK components. (machinable length 7 meter)
