Manufacturer removes toxic substance from product or manufacturing process. Retailers collect products for recycling. Rechargeable battery manufacturers provide collection boxes to recycle their product.* Fluorescent lamp manufacturers implement recycling program in Maine.* 8
9 Extended producer responsibility Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), a central tenet of product stewardship, is a policy approach in which the producer s responsibility for their product extends to the post consumer management of that product and its packaging. 9
