The Ultimate Guide To STEM CELL THERAPY for Joint Disorders

Who Are We? The Regenerative Orthopedic Clinic is a state-of-the-art medical facility that offers a number of services for non-surgical joint disorders, non-surgical spinal problems and neuropathy treatments. The doctors at Regenerative Orthopedic Clinic, including Dr. Andrew J. Keith, Dr. Richard Rowley and Dr. John Bowman have merged the best high-tech medicine and all-natural treatments to create a breakthrough joint disorder treatment program. One of our most popular procedures is a fluoroscopically-guided Hyalgen procedure and therapy, which uses state-of-the-art fluoroscopy a low dose motion x-ray) to see inside the joint to make sure treatments have the best possibility for maximum success. Among the new medical joint disorders treatments we provide are: Stem Cell Therapy Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy Viscosupplementation Prolotherapy Medical Ozone Therapy Our goal is treat your condition with the best medical option for your particular situation and get you back to a normal life as quickly and painlessly as possible. Dr. Andrew Keith CEO Founder You Can Get Your Life Back! What Are Stem Cells Stem cells are different from other types of cells in your body. All stem cells regardless of their source have three general properties: 1. They are capable of dividing and renewing themselves for long periods. 2. They are unspecialized. 3. They can give rise to specialized cell types. Stem cells have the remarkable potential to develop into many different cell types in the body during early life and growth. In many tissues, they serve as a sort of internal repair system,

Minimally Invasive Procedure dividing essentially without limit to replenish other cells as long as the person or animal is still alive. When a stem cell divides, each new cell has the potential either to remain a stem cell or become another type of cell with a more specialized function, such as a muscle cell, a red blood cell, or a brain In some organs, such as the gut and Which Stem Cells do you use for Joint Disorders? bone marrow, stem cells regularly divide to repair and replace worn out or damaged tissues. In other organs, however, such as the pancreas and the heart, stem cells only divide under special conditions. Until recently, scientists primarily worked with two kinds of stem cells from animals and humans: embryonic stem cells and non-embryonic somatic or adult stem cells. For the purposes of this article we will concentrate on adult stem cells as they are the primary type of stem cells that are used in the treatment of joint disorders. As we have just discussed, adult stem cells are used to treat joint injuries. These stem cells are taken from the patient s own Adipose tissue (fat tissue usually from the hip or stomach) that contains a high concentration of mesenchymal stem cells which are adult stem cells. PLEASE SHARE Alternative Treatments to Surgery

Trained Physicians, Expert Knowledge Can Stem Cells be used to Treat all joint disorders? The simple answer is yes, assuming that the patient s injuries lend themselves to this type of treatment. Only a trained doctor who has performed stem cell therapy will have the necessary expertise to determine if the treatment procedures are best for your particular situation. In most cases, from shoulders and knees to hands and ankles, stem cell therapy can be used successfully to treat most joint disorders. Are You a Good Candidate for Stem Cell Treatment?

The Process is Very Simple Stem Cell Therapy Process Step 1. Are You a Good Candidate? In order to determine if you are a candidate for stem cell therapy, you ll need to be examined by a trained physician. Your exam will typically include the following: Virtually Painless Procedure Step 3. Harvest The Stem Cells Once you are found to be a good candidate, the first procedure is to draw some blood from the adipose fat tissue in order to prepare the stem cells. Typically, the blood will be taken directly from your stomach or hip area. A detailed conversation about your medical history and current condition Review of your medical records, including X-rays, MRI s or CT scans A physical exam to determine if you are a good candidate Step 2. Prolotherapy Injection PLEASE SHARE Step 4. Prepare The Stem Cells Typically a small amount of belly fat is extracted and stem cells are then separated from the fat and purified by using a sophisticated processes using lipase and a centrifuge. Once separated, they are placed back In order to stimulate the healing response prior to injecting stem cells, a prolotherapy injection is performed two days prior to the stem cell procedure. A typical prolotherapy injection consists of a solution made of dextrose (sugar) and water and sometimes other harmless substances, such as vitamins which can be used to temporarily increase inflammation and activate the natural healing mechanism in the body. into a syringe and are now ready to be re-introduced into the affected joint. It is important to note that once the stem cells are harvested, they should be re-introduced back into the body within a few hours. If a medical facility tells you to come back tomorrow to complete the procedure, the stem cells will have degraded to a point that will render them virtually useless. Ensure the medical facility performs the entire procedure during the same doctor s visit.

Step 5. Inject The Stem Cells Back Into The Body Get Back to Work Quickly This next step is very important and one that is often overlooked by patients. How the physician determines where to place the new stem cells is critical. In most joints, there are very small areas that will be targeted for re-introducing the stem cells into the affected joint. To ensure the accuracy of the injection, image guidance technology should be used by the doctor. This technology will guide the doctor s injection into the correct place. If the injection is just slightly off, the procedure will most likely fail and the patient will receive no benefit at all. If your doctor tells you he manually injects the stem cells into the joint based on experience, it would be wise to seek a second opinion before starting any PLEASE SHARE Request A Free Medical Screening Step 6. Follow Up Care After 3 months and 6 months, a PRP injection is given to the patient to aid in the healing process.

What s Next? One Treatment is Usually Enough The entire procedure will usually take approximately 4 hours. In most cases, a patient can return to work in 24 to 48 hours. A simple treatment plan will be sent home with you and a follow up appointment will be made to review your progress. A series of follow up appointments should be scheduled after the final procedure as follows: 3 Days To ensure the area that was used to harvest the stem cells is healing nicely and see how the patient is progressing. 1 Month To check on the patient s progress and ensure proper healing. 3 Months Administer a PRP injection to aid in the healing process 6 Months Administer another PRP injection to further enhance the healing process What To Physically Expect Typically, there will be some pain Exercises are recommended as the Surgery May Not be the Answer How Many Treatments Will You Need? and minor discomfort for 2 to 4 days in the area where the blood is taken patient improves Most patients usually need just one treatment. 8 Compare the Costs The Cost Of Stem Cell Therapy How Much Does Each Treatment Cost? One stem cell treatment usually costs in the range of $4,000 - $6,000. While this appears to be a lot of money for this type of treatment, when compared to the cost of surgery, you ll find that it is quite reasonable. For example, if we take a look at the costs associated with a typical knee replacement surgery versus stem cell therapy, you ll get a good idea of what Is Surgery Worth It? The above totals do not take into consideration the time it takes to recover from a total knee replacement, pain and suffering, medications, return doctor visits, physical therapy and time missed from work. You could make a reasonable assumption that the total costs from a total knee replacement surgery could easily double to $40,000 or $50,000. While insurance may cover a good portion of these fees, they will not cover all of them. You also have to calculate how much you pay for your medical insurance to get a more ac- each one will cost you in terms of finances and personal costs. Total Knee Replacement SERVICE FEE FEE DETAILS Stem Cell Therapy SERVICE FEE FEE DETAILS HOSPITAL SERVICES PHYSICIAN SERVICES $18,671 Total price includes $8,000 which is a reasonable price for the implant or device. Check with your provider on the implant they intend to use as this could impact the total price. Total price includes a 4-day admission. More days are charged at $1,800 per day. Fewer days will reduce price by $1,800 per day. $2,950 Physician fee for procedure and routine postoperative care. Surgery to replace the knee. INITIAL EXAM $0 Typically, the first exam should be free. STEM CELL THERAPY PROCEDURE $5,000 Prices vary from clinic to clinic. This price is a median price. ANESTHESIA $1,098 TOTAL $22,720 Price is for an average surgery time of 2 hours and 30 minutes. Prices may go up or down, based upon the actual surgical time required. The recovery time for an injection is typically 24 to 48 hours, where the patient can return to normal activities.

Financial Plans Can Help Does Insurance Cover The Treatment? As of the publishing of this ebook, most insurance plans do not cover stem cell treatments for joint disorders. Since the procedures are still relatively new to the medical community, insurance companies view them as elective or experimental procedures. Most doctors seem to agree that the future of medicine lies with these types of minimally invasive treatment programs. This means that insurance companies will probably include them under their insurance plans in the near future. Financial Payment Plans Since stem cell therapy is currently not covered under insurance plans, do medical facilities offer any financial plans to help patients pay for the treatments? It will depend on the medical facility, but you should inquire if the medical clinic offers any such plan. There may be a qualification process to be accepted for a financial payment plan, but if you are struggling to find a way to pay for the treatment, finding a facility that offers a financial payment option maybe your only opportunity. Our Medical Screenings Are FREE!

Choose the Right Doctor What Type Of Doctor Should I Choose To Perform Stem Cell Therapy? Any M.D. can perform stem cell injections; however, choosing the right doctor is more important than finding one that can perform the procedure. It s just like taking your car in for a repair. Any mechanic can look at it, give you and price and say they can fix the problem. But do you trust them and does their place of business give you the impression they are qualified to perform the repair? The best type of doctor to perform stem cell therapy procedures is an orthopedic surgeon. They already have the prerequisite training in bones, tendons, muscles and surgery. It may seem like a contradiction to say an orthopedic surgeon is the best qualified person to perform these Come See How We Can Help You! treatments, since they typically want to perform surgery on you. That is why it is important to find out if your doctor knows about or performs other minimally invasive treatment options.

What Questions Should I Ask A Medical Facility About Treating Joint Disorders?? Interviewing the medical facility is also an important process when finding a good stem cell therapy match. Knowing what to ask them can help you filter out the bad ones and lead you to a qualified facility that can potentially provide you with the experience and results that can lead you to a successful outcome. Here are the top 4 questions to ask: Do you offer a free medical screening? What are the qualifications of the doctors who will perform your treatment? Do you offer additional minimally invasive treatment options? Do you offer payment options for your treatments? Are There Other Treatment Options For Joint Disorders? There Are Alternative Treatments PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Injections Viscosupplementation PLEASE SHARE If your joint injury is not a good candidate for stem cell therapy, there may be other alternative treatment options that could benefit you. This is why one of the 4 questions we tell you to ask a medical facility is about offering alternative treatment options. A medical facility that does offer alternative Prolotherapy Medical ozone Therapy If they offer these, it is good indication that they are experienced in joint disorders and can offer alternatives to suit your particular situation? joint treatment options should offer:
