8 Priorities of WP 2013 Lifestyle health Emphasis on brain-related diseases, Cardiovascular diseases and Cancer Anti-microbial drug resistance Health promotion and prevention New and re-emerging epidemics

9 Bridging with Horizon 2020 Focus on limited number of strategic area building ERA and avoid shopping-lists Reduce level of prescription in calls especially in terms of topic definition, i.e. broader topics Stronger innovation component (Europe 2020) with particular attention to SME participation International cooperation should be more strategic

10 Topics ofparticularinterest to Thai researchers No SICA Projects Innovation in vaccines (HEALTH ) Towards"universal" influenza vaccines Prophylactic vaccines for any of the neglected infectious diseases Stratified approaches to antibacterial and/or antifungal treatment (HEALTH ) better understanding of both pathogen and host factors, as well as their interaction Enabling the prescription of antimicrobials specifically tailored to the needs of individual patients

11 Topics ofparticularinterest to Thai researchers (2) Clinical management of patients in severe epidemics (HEALTH ) Provide a rapid, harmonised and optimised approach to any severe infectious outbreak with a pandemic potential The project should structure the European contribution towards internationalinitiativesalreadyexistingorunderdevelopmentin this field Drug development for neglected parasitic diseases (HEALTH ) Bring together promising European and global attempts to discover and develop drugs for neglected parasitic diseases Establishing a common drug discovery platform or Undertaking advanced clinical testing of new or improved drugs
