1 i3l BIOTECHNOLOGY BACHELOR PROGRAM Sustaining Your Future Improving the Quality of Life

2 Message From the Head of Study Program Amadeus Y. Pribowo, Ph.D. Head of BioTechnology After emerging from the disruptive digital revolution that has shaped the way we communicate and share information, humanity is once again ushering the next stage of technological revolution: the biotechnology revolution. Biotechnology is defined as the use of biological systems to make or modify products or processes. The biotechnology revolution is brought about by advances in our understanding about genetics and cellular mechanisms and in technologies that allow us to tinker with these fundamental elements of life. From growing crops that have enhanced productivity to producing novel cancer drugs from coral reefs and from generating biofuel from waste to storing terabytes of information in a piece of DNA, the biotechnology revolution is poised to disrupt many aspects of our lives. The BioTechnology program at i3l is uniquely positioned to deliver a worldclass education and research experience that will prepare students to be future biotech leaders. Through its interdisciplinary curriculum and collaborations with leading global universities, students have the opportunity to learn from the best lecturers and professors in biotechnology and explore their passion within the various areas of biotechnology. With its strong research portfolio and wellequipped laboratories, the BioTechnology program offers ample opportunities for students to gain real research experience during their study at i3l. Our network of industry and research partners continues to actively recruit top talents from i3l to fill the growing need of biotech professionals both in Indonesia and abroad. We are excited for the bright future of biotechnology in Indonesia and are proud to contribute to its development. We look forward to welcoming top students to help us usher in the biotechnology revolution in Indonesia. Overview Indonesia International Institute for Life Sciences (i3l) is a globally connected research and education institution that impacts the society through science and innovation. In i3l BioTechnology, interdisciplinary education and innovations are directed to enhance quality of life via production of valuable products from Indonesian biodiversity. This program offers a broad content, nurturing wellrounded graduates to become leaders in various fields in biotechnology.

I gained experience in writing scientific reports, disease analysis, as well as lab reports from a business point of view. I learned how to conduct market analysis to find out how various diseases may impact different countries. From this internship, I have learned about the real world applications of scientific research as well as its commercialization.
