2 Prisons Traka offers purpose-designed key and radio vending solutions for secure establishments such as prisons, police custody suites, immigration centres, psychiatric hospitals, secure units and young offender institutes. As the leading worldwide specialist in intelligent key, equipment and asset management, Traka systems are in use 24/7 in many critical and demanding environments, including private and public sector prisons in England and Scotland. The Traka ifob At the heart of our intelligent key and access management solutions is the Traka ifob. Each ifob has a unique electronic ID which plays a vital role in controlling and monitoring asset access, and compiling detailed audit trails. Intelligent key and radio vending solutions The introduction of a Traka system significantly reduces the number of keys and radios that you are required to hold on site typically by around 40%. With Traka there is no need for a costly key bunch and tally per officer, as staff draw keys themselves from an authorised pool. This leads to cost savings in both purchase and audit Benefits overview; Keys are automatically vended with no need for manual issue by security staff Shift start-up times are significantly improved and queuing is eliminated, as keys and radios can be drawn or returned in less than five seconds by each staff member Numbers of key bunches centrally held can be dramatically reduced by up to 40% Traka records who has which key bunch and radio, making everyone accountable for the equipment they use Fully audited, real-time and historical reporting shows which keys or radios are currently held by the system and which are currently issued to officers Traka can be linked to access control systems so any officer holding a set of keys or radio will be refused exit through the barrier until their key bunch or radio has been returned The Traka solution invariably gives a return on investment in less than twelve months, releasing budget for other vital projects

3 Traka solutions can provide benefits for all your equipment, valuables and sensitive material Laptops, PDA s and tablets Weapons management Specialist medical equipment Custodial keys TASER management Prisoner property Incapacitant spray Search equipment Mobile phone devices Automated key vending solutions Traka s fully audited and automated key vending solution saves time and money, as well as improving procedures and meeting compliance requirements. Intelligent key cabinets save money spent on staff-specific key bunches as only keys for the maximum number of staff on a shift at any one time need to be provided, rather than for each officer, as with tally systems Cost and time saving solutions for prisons and secure establishments Systems specified for prisons allow flexible spacing options to accommodate a larger key bunch hanging space and have capacity for up to 90 key bunch positions per cabinet. Rescue hardware Breath test and mobile ID devices Controlled drugs Evidence and detained property Features Overview Automatically vends authorised keys from a secure software-controlled cabinet Generates unique access permissions for individual staff members Audits and accounts for every key set 24/7 and 365 days per year Traka systems are managing 275,000 key vend transactions per annum at one site Automatically alerts and notifies designated managers if a key is not returned on time Continuously audits all user and key transactions enabling the generation of real-time reports on the location of all key bunches Integrates with existing access control systems to ensure staff cannot leave site without first returning their keys Segregates operational and non-operational keys

4 Prisons Temporary Key Storage This option allows staff to temporarily deposit their keys in a cabinet using their fingerprint ID where, for example, they visit the gymnasium, but it is not practical to return their keys to the main gate. Keys can be retrieved only by the person who deposited them, again using fingerprint ID All transactions are fully audited within the central Traka software, allowing administrators to instantly see who has deposited their keys and when Suitable for all situations where keys may need to be deposited temporarily Bespoke radio vending solutions Traka radio lockers can be manufactured to bespoke size specifications, and with or without integrated charging facilities. The system includes an innovative RFID monitoring solution which confirms that each radio has been returned to its correct compartment by the last user. And as with the Traka key vending system, there is no need to invest in excessive quantities of radios to provide for every member of staff. Features overview; Automatically vends authorised radios from secure software-controlled lockers Generates unique access permissions for individual staff members Audits and accounts for every radio 24/7 and 365 days per year Automatically alerts and notifies designated managers if a radio is not returned on time Continuously audits all transactions and generates realtime reports on the location of all radios RFID tagging ensures every radio is uniquely identified and managed Integrated charging ensures that all radios are fully charged before they are issued to the next officer and saves money which would otherwise need to be spent on spare batteries Systems can enable radio software updates during charging process if required Can integrate with existing access control systems to ensure staff cannot leave site without first returning their radio Makes staff individually accountable for equipment, resulting in fewer losses and less damage Enables damage and faults to be logged when equipment is returned and ensures that the radio is not issued again until it is fully repaired How does it work? It takes just a few seconds for a registered user to remove an authorised set of keys from the intelligent key cabinet. Staff simply identify themselves by verifying their fingerprint on the system s biometric reader, and the Traka cabinet will then illuminate the keys available to that particular member of staff. Authorities for specific key bunches are determined through the software and can be set to allow a user to either remove only one key bunch at a time or multiple keys of different types if appropriate e.g. a general set and a maintenance set for the switch room. Once a key has been removed the audit process records the user, the key and the time it was taken. At any time, an enquiry can be made either at the Traka cabinet or via the software, to show who has the key now and who used it in the past. How does it work? Each staff member identifies themselves to the cabinet by verifying their fingerprint on the integrated reader. Alternatively, if there is an access control system already in place, existing readers and cards can be used. Once authorised, the locker door automatically opens and the selected radio can be removed. An officer will only be able to remove radios which they have been given authority to use through the Traka software. On return, the staff member identifies themselves to the cabinet and the correct locker door will automatically open. Every radio can be RFID tagged, so that each one is uniquely identified and individually accounted for. Using the Traka software, administrators immediately know if a radio is in its locker and with real-time monitoring, you can instantly identify precisely when a radio is taken or returned, and more importantly, by whom.

5 Integration with existing systems Partner associations Ensure keys and radios never leave site A major benefit of the Traka solution is its ability to integrate with third party access control and door entry systems to prevent unauthorised removal of key bunches or radios from the premises. When an officer attempts to exit a secure establishment, the access control system immediately checks their ID with the Traka system to ensure keys and radios have been returned before the barrier opens. At the same time the control room staff are alerted. The Traka solution can either be integrated with an existing access control system, or if one is not available, Traka can supply a suitable system. Other services for prisons and secure environments Fleet Management Traka key cabinets can be used to manage vehicle keys, to prevent unauthorised staff from driving fleet and specialist vehicles: Always know exactly who was driving each vehicle and when Report on mileage, fuel, hours used and even where the vehicle is parked Enforce alcohol testing for drivers before vehicle keys are released Vehicle defects can be reported by the user to automatically generate alerts to the service team and lock-out access to vehicles with faults Equipment management Traka s intelligent lockers can also be used to store a variety of equipment such as laptops, data terminals, scanners, cameras and other specialist devices: Manage, control and account for the use of shared portable equipment Know who has, or previously used, portable pool equipment at all times Deposit important paperwork, making it readily available 24/7 to selected staff Use software to manage, control and report on usage Tool management The Traka solution can also be deployed to manage and control access to specialist tools and equipment: Audit tool and equipment usage so you always know who has used each item and when Manage the use of shared tools to remove the need for duplication and to improve utilisation Create a controlled environment so staff are fully accountable for tools used Set recalibration and service intervals so that tools and equipment are properly maintained
