Every time a business user enters an address, it is instantly validated by microservices for location data running on SAP Cloud Platform. Misspelled street names, missing towns, or inaccurate postal codes are all automatically compared and corrected. If a business user enters an incomplete address in an application interface, microservices for location data automatically compare the entered address with high-quality reference data from third-party data providers. When a match is found, the newly completed address is placed in the correct fields for the user s approval. Geocoding assigns latitude and longitude coordinates to an address or postal code, while reverse geocoding translates latitude and longitude coordinates into a specific address or set of addresses. These geocoding microservices can yield the exact coordinates of the specific parcel of land represented by any address, using existing geographic information system or GIS databases to match address and location data, like latitude and longitude.
