EMC Announces Captiva 6.5 Captiva 6.5 delivers breakthrough capture performance and intelligence Process more than 10 million pages (tasks) daily Faster deployments of projects Capture information across global enterprises

What s New? Captiva InputAccel 6.5: Core enterprise capture platform Captiva Dispatcher 6.5: Advanced document classification and data extraction Captiva InputAccel for Invoices 6.5: Invoice document and data capture einput 2.2: Browser based scanning and Indexing

Why Captiva 6.5 Is Important Breakthrough performance supports enterprise-wide capture Intelligent deployment tools reduce deployment time and TCO Seamlessly capture documents from all countries and in all languages

PROCESS OVER 10 MILLION PAGES DAILY, ON A SINGLE SERVER TAKING ENTERPRISE CAPTURE TO THE NEXT LEVEL

High-Volume Capture and Ingestion Connect to Documentum High-Volume Server Rapid ingestion, efficient database storage, and reliable access to content Exports content as materialized Lightweight System Objects Uses serial document injection for higher performance Supports DocBase partitioning

Document Capture Administrator Challenges Setting up and maintaining capture projects LARGE SET OF DOCUMENT TYPES Many different document types and variations PROJECT SETUP AND ONGOING MAINTENANCE Manually create templates and zones based on document test set TEST AND RETEST PROJECTS Testing and retesting templates and data extraction is a common process before deploying

Automate Common Capture Use Cases Structured Semi-structured Unstructured Forms Applications Tax returns Invoices Policies Purchase orders Contracts Correspondence Documents that vary for certain types or have dozens/hundreds of data fields

Configuring Capture Projects Automated versus manual Document Capture Project Administrator Manual setup of projects Collect documents, set up document templates, create extraction zones Test and retest projects Days or weeks before entering production Operators Learn documents in production Learns based on operator input, data captured, free-form rules In production on day one, rather than days or weeks later NEW

Architecture: Captiva Dispatcher Production Auto Learning How it works Dispatcher Supervisor NEW Document Storage Template creation Automatic placement of fields Automatic project update Storage of TIFF images, and OCR and XML files Daily updates NEW Scan Classification and Recognition Servers Classification Edit and Validation Clients Collects document images that are set up for learning

Key Advantages AUTOMATIC LEARNING System automatically learns without requiring unusual operator input and manual project updates FLEXIBILITY Adjust learning parameters and sensitivity for optimal results TIME TO VALUE Basic projects can be configured and running in under an hour

Reduces total cost of ownership Simplifies project configuration and maintenance Enables you to Launch projects into production quickly Reduce manual classification and data entry over time Easily handle new or modified documents entering a workflow

Leveraging Production Auto Learning for Invoices Utilizes new Production Auto Learning to quickly set up templates for common vendors Quickly create templates for high-volume vendor invoices

Intelligent Invoice Capture Free-form extraction Invoice data capture: free-form enhancements Tuned existing country s free-form rules for better accuracy* Improved header and line item data extraction* Delivers better accuracy, reducing manual data entry *Based on internal testing, EMC saw accuracy improvements from a few to several percentage points on selected fields. In some cases no improvement occurred. The statements are intended as guidance only. Some customers may not experience improved accuracy.

New Automation Speeds Invoice Capture Eliminate manual steps and save time Process credit memos and blanket purchase orders Match invoices to purchase orders by amount and/or quantity Automatic line matching during the Recognition step

Enterprise Capture Made Easy Enhancements in InputAccel CaptureFlow Designer Previously Graphically build capture processes SIMPLE AND EASY APPROACH TO ENTERPRISE CAPTURE Configure rather than code Empowers valueadded resellers, systems integrators, IT, and power users Today

Rapid Customization, Lower Cost Route documents to a specific task based on logical condition Use cases Task-level complexity Type of processing required Security clearance Document language

Capture Any Document, Anywhere New InputAccel Image Converter Module Capture electronic file attachments Combine paper with electronic files and workflow processes Reduce processing time and labor costs and eliminate lost or misfiled documents

Capture Information Across Global Enterprises Delivering enterprise capture globally Global processing Processes single- and double-byte languages Handles mixed client/server locales Localized release French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, simplified Chinese, Korean

Global Deployment Support New recognition options for Eastern European and Asia Pacific languages Automated document classification and data extraction Recognizes over 100 languages

What s new in einput 2.2 This is a minor release which contains small number of new features. Scanner profiles Brightness/contrast image settings Automatic client-side batch deletion Support for InputAccel ScaleServer technology Improved Scalability by supporting Load Balancing, Reverse Proxy, and Clustering Support for several einput server instances on one machine

Scanner profiles einput introduces Global Scan Profiles (GSP) idea: Each profile defines scanner settings for various drivers, and is intended for a specific purpose, such as scanning passports, invoices, faxes, and other document types. The profiles are shared between escan and erescan modules Workflow designers can change any driver settings, including those in the Advanced Settings window Workflow designers can define Default Scanner profile for escan or erescan modules in workflow Workflow designers can prevent operators from changing scanner settings during production. Scan operator can quickly and easily select a scanner configuration during production

Automatic client-side batch deletion How it was: Module operator had to delete all processed batches manually via Client Console How it works in 2.2: Modules automatically delete batches successfully sent to einput Server immediately after the confirmation of the successful delivery is received. Module operator does not have to care about client-side batch storage

Support for InputAccel ScaleServer technology einput modules support ScaleServer group: escan can create batches on any server in the group escan provides batch creation load balancing between connected servers eindex, erescan, and estatus can receive tasks from any of InputAccel Servers simultaneously eindex, erescan, and estatus modules do not provide any task load balancing between connected servers

Captiva 6.5 Summary Superior performance, reduced TCO, globalization Captiva 6.5 delivers significant business value: Breakthrough performance supports enterprise-wide capture Intelligent deployment tools reduce deployment time and TCO Seamlessly capture documents and data from global enterprise organizations
