25 Electronic Certificates Flags accept our digital solution We have currently formal acceptance of our digital solution from 52 flags representing almost 80% of DNV GL s fleet, incl. Denmark, Norway, Bahamas, Germany, Singapore, Liberia, Marshall Island, Malta and Panama. The success of E-Certs is contingent on its acceptance by the global maritime community. Singapore, Denmark and Norway are optimistic that their use is a game changer that will become the norm in the near future. Singapore Nautilus 02/2017 No. 39

26 End of paper chase IMO compliant electronic certificates DNV GL commenced roll out of full scale issuance of IMO compliant electronic class and statutory certificates across its entire fleet on the 15 th of October 2017, becoming the first class society to do so Upon first periodical survey after the roll out date, a set of electronic certificates will be issued, subject to flag acceptance The early signs are extremely positive including successful experience with more than 300 port state inspections worldwide. Ship owners and managers, as well as flag states and port state authorities, vetting agencies and many other companies now benefit from a paperless class and statutory regime 52 Flags have granted acceptance as on now, more are on the way See press release, T&R newsletter and DNV GL internet site 26

39 Motivation and Benefits of remote surveys Planned for

40 Triggers for ordering surveys remotely (Planned for 2019) When ordering a survey in the customer portal, customers will be asked (prompted) if they would like DNV GL to evaluate whether that survey may be done remotely if: The survey type is tagged by DNV GL as being possible to handle remotely in general (i.e. typically occasional surveys, documentation based surveys) The survey is not ordered together with a survey which is excluded from remote surveys, e.g. annual survey, bottom survey etc. 40

41 Remote surveys General notes (Planned for 2019) Some surveys will require remote inspection technology for acquiring live evidence by streaming. This is evaluated on a case by case basis by DNV GL 3G/4G/wifi capability will typically support use of the remote inspection technology using a mobile phone. Even though you may get a prompt about a possible remote survey, this is no guarantee that the specific survey can really be done remotely. 73 CYBERSECURITY SELF ASSESSMENT FiS: Fleet Manager, QHSE Manager Contact: Rossi, Patrick Maritime Advisory - Hamburg In brief The application will help users to assess relevant questions regarding cybersecurity in a maritime environment (shipping companies, vessels) Features The application offers a straightforward way for customers to carry out a self-assessment of their cybersecurity measures, providing an overview of high risk items and the general risk status of maritime assets. It also creates awareness and provides general recommendations on how to eliminate weaknesses and improve resilience against cyberattacks. Using a questionnaire, users can assess the cybersecurity risk for each process/ system. This includes the loss of data and the availability of software for example. The application also includes a general overview on cybersecurity. Benefit The app provides customers with regular updates on the latest discoveries in the field of cybersecurity and offers an opportunity to assess the status quo of a company/ vessel, identify common weaknesses and plan the next steps ahead 73
