SOLTIUS MyPM: Mobile Plant Maintenance NEW ZEALAND S MOST TRUSTED SAP PROVIDER

MyPM is a user-focused, comprehensive, affordable solution for mobilising SAP Plant Maintenance, developed by Soltius New Zealand Ltd. The MyPM solution uses an inside out approach to mobilising SAP, and incorporates the same user interface as in SAP Fiori. This is achieved using Neptune Software s SAP Certified Add On to your existing SAP ERP system. MyPM has been created using flexible technology options and commonly available SAP and IT technical skills. It s fast and simple to deploy, enhance and support, and has no or minimal additional infrastructure requirements. This product sheet provides summary information on our solution. If you d like to understand more, please contact Soltius NZ Ltd - see final page for contact details. USER-FOCUSED DESIGN Central to the design approach used to develop MyPM, is our experience working with customers using SAP Plant Maintenance in multiple industries. We have focused on delivering the elements we ve recognised as common requirements and those we see as missing from the translation of real world tasks to SAP concepts. An example of this is Asset Inspections. GREAT USER EXPERIENCE MyPM provides a simple, intuitive user experience, using the latest SAPUI5 user interface giving it the same look and feel as SAP Fiori and next generation SAP products. The solution is targeted at personnel undertaking asset maintenance and inspections in the field. The majority of the functionality works just as easily from compliant desktop browsers, for when you re back in the office. SAP Plant Maintenance is feature rich, and in developing this new solution we ve focused on those areas most commonly required by mobile users. We understand that there may be valid business needs requiring an adjustment to the solution. A major strength of the MyPM product, and the Neptune Software development framework, is the ability to easily adapt it to meet customer specific/roi validated requirements. 3 FULLY OFFLINE Our solution supports fully offline operations, with updates to and from the device occurring on user initiated synchronisation. Delta update functionality means that we are able to minimise the sync time and mobile data volumes to and from your device. List screens provide for grouping and sort functionality. For example, in the My Work Order screen you can group and sort by Start Date, Priority, Equipment, Functional Location and Order Type. Figure 3 - My Work Orders Managing your working week from the field can be difficult. That s why the solution includes a calendar view for your Orders: Figure 2 - Delta Sync USER-FOCUSED FUNCTIONALITY The functionality included is focused on the needs of the field worker. Core Functionality Mobile workers can process SAP Work Orders in the field, gather asset information and review or create notifications. Base functionality includes: Work and Service Orders Notifications Functional Locations Details Equipment Details Measurement Reading List Measurement Points Measurement Documents. Figure 4 - Work Order Calendar View Or use the optional Google Map function: Figure 5 - My Work Map Functionality 3

Finding Assets Locating the right asset when you re in the field isn t always easy. The MyPM solution provides the ability to very simply search using partial, multiple search terms across all key fields. For example, searching for tes b 4 found the below record based on partial searches across the Description and Functional Location fields there was no need to specify the SAP search field/s or operators! GIS Integration The solution has inbuilt optional Google Maps functionality to show Functional Location and Equipment locations for ios, Android and common browsers. Figure 6 - Equipment Search You can also navigate up, down and into Functional Location and Equipment records using the Structure Search function. Figure 8 - Integrated Google Maps Google Maps is licensed separately by Google. The pre-developed Google Map functionality does not work with Windows 8+. Integration with other GIS mobile solutions that are HTML5/JavaScript enabled is also possible. Asset Inspections Figure 7 - Structure Search A key feature of the product is configurable inspections. Inspection can be initiated from the Work Order object lists or directly from Equipment or Functional Locations. Partial inspections can be transferred between devices allowing for shared devices or device swap outs. The inspection functionality is also suited for gathering as-built data or irregular changes. Examples include an Equipment Tag ID change or asset condition grading outside of the regular inspection cycle. The fully configurable questions can be processed to: Update key Equipment or FL records. Update Equipment or FL classification records. Create Measurement documents. Do nothing just gather the information or confirmation. 4

The inspection questions have a series of pre-developed response screen templates. Here is an example: ADMINISTRATION CONSOLE A separate administration browser console exists for the solution, where key system, user and inspection template settings are made. It also provides reporting and processing on device synchronisation events and inspection processing. The administration console can be accessed directly or integrated into a SAP NWBC or portal role. Figure 9 Inspection: Asset Grading Figure 11 MyPM Application Management Synchronisation Logging Administration and support can be problematic when you don t have a full Mobile Device Management solution. That s why we log summary details of each synchronisation event. Figure 10 - Inspection: Equipment Update Access to all inspections for technical objects can be provided by using object links in the functional location and equipment records. Performance We understand that field workers just want to get on with their job and not spend an age syncing device data. That s why we ve invested heavily in developing and optimising our synchronisation processes. Figure 12 - MyPM Synchronisation Log Details include user, device type, device ID, Type, OS and positional information (configurable). Delta sync times depend on the number of records, number of updates (to and from the device); device performance, connection speed and SAP performance. Delta syncs are typically between 10 and 50 seconds. 5

Inspection Configuration and Monitoring Inspections, Question Groups and Questions are all configurable from within the MyPM Administration Console. ARCHITECTURE Build The solution is built using standard SAP ABAP development for the ERP processing, and Neptune Software s SAP Certified Application Designer for the SAPUI5 presentation layer and mobile device logic. Figure 13 - MyPM Inspection Configuration A log of all the inspection results and processing status is provided giving you a full and enduring record of all inspection results in one place: Figure 15 - Neptune Application Designer in SAP ERP The SAP code base exists under the Neptune and Soltius namespaces. Figure 14 - MyPM Inspection Processing Log The inspection log also allows you to re-process failed updates (caused by object locks), set to manually updated (incorrect configuration) or ignore (more recent reading). The technology mix means that your existing support team can likely provide effective support for the base ABAP programs. It also means that solution migration between systems will fit in with your existing SAP change management procedures. Mobile App Creation The MyPM application can be very simply generated into a device specific hybrid application, using PhoneGap or Cordova services for ios and Android, or Visual Studio for Windows. The hybrid containerisation approach is very common in the mobile industry, allowing the application to run offline, access required device features and run on multiple device types all from the same source. 6

Deployment Neptune Software comes complete with an Enterprise Mobile Catalogue for Neptune Applications which allows for rolebased allocation of applications to users. Installation of apps can then be initiated by the user from their device browser. Desktop Browsers As well as mobile device apps, the MyPM solution will run on HTML5 compliant Chrome, Safari and IE browsers. In cases where the deployment is to the internet or involves large numbers of users, we would recommend the use of a Mobile Device Management solution, such as SAP Afaria, to add additional device management and security. Run Run on the leading device types of your choice. The mobile device can support multiple SAP Users in a shared environment. Optionally, the data can be encrypted for single user/device use. Logon to the SAP system is controlled by your SAP logon and password. This is then encrypted and stored in the device, protected by a pin code, for ease of access. Mobile Devices The following are the targeted mobile device types all from the same common code base: ios Tablet and Phones 7 + Android Tablet and Phones Windows 8.1 Tablet Figure 17 - Desktop Browser When used on browsers, access to some device features, such as the camera, is not available. Systems Landscape There are a variety of systems landscape options which can be impacted by a number of factors, including existing infrastructure, data, network and mobile security policies and standards. The following illustrates a simple representation for deployment to the internet. SAP ERP 6 and Plant Maintenance SAP Web Dispatcher Figure 16 - Adaptive Device Form Factor Generally speaking, phone-sized devices offer a reduced User Experience and performance compared to their tablet counterparts. Figure 18 - Sample Landscape For internet exposed use, we would also strongly advocate the use of a security services company to test and mitigate your vulnerability to external attack. 7

LICENSING AND DEPLOYMENT Deployment Timeline A key aim of MyPM is to mobilise in the shortest timeframe possible, to reduce costs and maximise ROI. The technical deployment can be very rapid whereas the functional deployment is necessarily influenced by client specific activities. Soltius is experienced with SAP and SAP Mobile deployments and can work with you to develop the optimal approach. Services and Licenses The license of the MyPM application is based on an annual subscription charge on a per-user basis. Alternatively, the solution may be bought outright. In addition to the MyPM licenses, the following are required: Neptune Software Licenses: 1 x runtime license; 1 mobile license per MyPM user; 1 web license per administrator; 1 web license per inspection results viewer (mobile licenses include web licenses). SAP Licenses for PM functions 1 per mobile user plus annual maintenance. These may already exist. Apple Enterprise Developer Account if using ios + annual subscription. Microsoft Developer Account if using Windows 8 + annual subscription. Purchasing Decisions Product specifications, functionality, technologies and performance are all subject to ongoing change initiated by Soltius, Neptune Software, SAP, hardware and software vendors. Purchasing decisions should not be made based solely on the information provided by this product sheet. Once acquired they can be used as the basis to mobilise other areas of operation. The following licenses are optional and need to be acquired directly: PhoneGap Build Service may be used for app generation with a minimal subscription charge from Adobe, or the command line Cordova tool can be used at no additional cost. Google Maps requires Google Licenses negotiated directly with Google. 8
