They must find new ways to partner & sustain performance, and grow the business. With empowered consumers & employees and rapid technological changes along with rise of emerging economies, traditional business models are being disrupted. Transformation is not new for the finance function. The first generation of F&A transformation was about defining, streamlining, and normalizing processes - as well as establishing own or outsourced shared service centers in diverse geographical locations with the specific intend to save costs, bring in efficiencies, and continuously improve. Many enterprises have been hugely successful in this endeavor while many others are in various stages of getting there. Today, the industry is abuzz with terms like robotics, blockchain technology, cognitive & predictive analytics, intelligent automation, and many more. Digital technology is revolutionizing both our al and business life and redefining the workplace rules. Technology is creating brilliant new opportunities for interconnected units to operate as a single organized entity, breaking down silos and creating radically new environments. What about the finance function? Is the function still relevant? Are there innovative operating models and technological tools that ensure that finance plays a bigger and larger role in the business? How does finance move to the next generation transformation? Clearly, aligning the relevance and necessity of digital in finance transformation is the need of the times. As finance leaders we are expected to ensure that our function adds value, promotes competitive advantage and our leaders are key contributors to corporate strategy. Coping with the complexity of today s business environment is not just about predicting the future or reducing risk. It s about building capacity in ourselves, our people, and the organization - to adapt continuously and learn speedily, in order to maximize the chances of seizing fleeting opportunities. In the face of this bewildering revolution, how should finance professionals begin to navigate the landscape? Where should they place their bets? And how can they take advantage of the available opportunities? SSF s 2 nd Finance Leadership Summit, 2018 will provide the essential knowledge, insights and perspectives, which are needed to achieve these goals. Whether we are considering a finance transformation or are already in the process of its implementation, understanding the success factors and pitfalls of such a transformation project is essential. The objective of this summit is to make our finance function more effective in driving business value, find the right approach, the critical success factors, and what to watch out for.
