These packs provide seamless connectivity for enterprise applications between the most widely used enterprise applications and IBM Information Server. This combination brings together disparate source systems, legacy systems, enterprise applications, and business intelligence/analytic tools, thereby enhancing the speed and effectiveness of business analysis. IBM Information Server Packs enable enterprise applications to benefit from the robust capabilities of IBM Information Server for data quality and data transformation. 2 WebSphere DataStage and IBM WebSphere QualityStage. Customers are now authorized to deploy this software on servers on which DB2 is installed without incurring additional charges, as long as they have separately licensed and installed IBM WebSphere DataStage and IBM WebSphere QualityStage. The use of WebSphere DataStage and WebSphere QualityStage on DB2 servers is limited to use in support of reading and parallel loading of DB2 tables and not for additional DataStage-specific processing tasks. Planned availability dates August 14, 2007 (electronic software delivery) September 14, 2007 (media and documentation) Description IBM Information Server Pack for SAP R/3 V6.0 supports three SAP interfaces: Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) Intermediate Document (IDoc) Business API (BAPI) These interfaces provide maximum flexibility and choice for extracting or loading data and using the correct method to handle the volume of data you need to manage. Features of the Pack include an ability to: Generate native SAP ABAP extraction code Retrieve IDoc metadata Automatically translate the IDoc into IBM Information Server for extraction/loading Retrieve and execute BAPI calls from IBM Information Server jobs The Pack is certified by SAP. IBM Information Server Pack for PeopleSoft Enterprise V3.2 facilitates selecting and importing PeopleSoft metadata into IBM Information Server where it can be managed along with other enterprise information. The Pack enables organizations to rapidly extract vast amounts of data from PeopleSoft application tables and trees. 3 The IBM Information Server Packs, with extract capability, allow developers to quickly and easily access data in complex enterprise applications so it can be extracted for use in a target system, such as for data warehouse and datamart development. The Packs, with load capability, allow developers to quickly and easily populate the target enterprise application with data from other heterogeneous sources, and are useful for application migration, consolidation, and new enterprise application deployment. The Packs are add-on options to IBM Information Server and are licensed separately depending on client requirements. The IBM Publications Center The Publications Center is a worldwide central repository for IBM product publications and marketing material with a catalog of 70,000 items.
