5 Course Overview Course Overview This course is intended to provide a complete overview of the new capabilities of SAP NetWeaver BW 7.4. It focuses on the new features available with this version of BW. Although the older BW version features are not the focus, in many cases the older technique is mentioned to position the improvements provided in this newer version of BW. This course only focuses on the features of SAP NetWeaver BW, which are also possible in a non SAP NetWeaver BW on SAP HANA scenario. Features of SAP NetWeaver BW on SAP HANA are covered in the course BW362. Target Audience This course is intended for the following audiences: Customers using BW 7.x upgrading to BW 7.4, but it would also benefit advanced customers using previous versions of BW who are upgrading to BW 7.4. Note: A detailed review of features in previous versions of BW is not part of this class. The DBW70 training course is for upgrading from 3.5 to 7.0. Course Prerequisites Required Knowledge Knowledge of SAP BW Modeling and Administration Recommended Knowledge Hands on use of BW 7.0 from the Modeling (back-end) perspective. Course Goals This course will prepare the participant to: Work as a project team member or project leader on a BW 7.4 upgrade project. Provide decision support for the justification of a BW upgrade to version 7.4 Deploy new BW 7.4 features Course Objectives After completing this course, the participant will be able to: Utilize the new graphical data flow modeling Understand the new analysis authorizations and related migration issues Explain the goals and limitations of the new BW 7.4 InfoProviders Deploy the new hierarchy ETL processes of BW 7.4 Understand the integration points for SAP Data Services 4.2 with BW SAP AG.
