1 Graphic Mode POS Integration In this POS integration, it is required to install GV-POS SW Capture program in your POS device in order to transmit the transaction data to GV-DVR / NVR / VMS. Before You Start Before you start, note the specifications and prepare the following items: A Windows-based POS device generating EMF or any other raw (unprocessed) data files. An appropriate dongle for connecting to GV-DVR / NVR/ VMS. The dongle options include 1, 2, 4, 8, 12 and 16 ports. The number of connections allowed: o Serial port: up to 4 POS devices can be connected to one GV-DVR / NVR / VMS o Network: up to 16 or 32 POS devices can be connected to a GV-DVR / NVR or GV-VMS, respectively. Settings A POS device can be added to GV-DVR / NVR / VMS by following these 3 steps: Step 1: Physical Connection Step 2: Settings on the POS Device Step 3: Settings on GV-DVR / NVR / VMS GeoVision Inc. 1 Revision Date: 2018/11/6

2 Step 1: Physical Connection You can choose to connect the POS device to GV-DVR / NVR / VMS by RS-232 or network. RS-232 Connection Use a cross-over RS-232 cable to connect GV-DVR / NVR / VMS and install GV-POS SW Capture program to the POS device. Cross-over RS232 POS Device + GV-POS SW Capture GV-DVR/NVR/VMS + USB dongle Network Connection Connect the GV-DVR / NVR / VMS and POS device to the same LAN and install GV-POS SW Capture program to the POS device. LAN or INTERNET POS Device + GV-POS SW Capture GV-DVR/NVR/VMS + USB dongle Note: Configure a static IP address or domain name for the POS device. If the POS device uses a dynamic IP address, you should apply for a domain name from a DDNS service so that the GV-DVR / NVR / VMS can maintain access to the POS device by its domain name. 3 Step 2: Settings on the POS Device 1. Run GV-POS SW Capture. This dialog box appears. 2. Select the connection method as accorded to your physical connection: Select Serial Port for RS-232 connection and the COM port used for connecting the POS device to GV-DVR / NVR / VMS. Select TCP/IP Port for network connection. Set a password that will later be used on GV-DVR / NVR / VMS for authentication and change the default port value of 4000 if necessary. 4 3. Optionally enable Capture Data From Serial Port to capture transaction data from a specific COM port. When disabled, the GV-POS SW Capture automatically detects for and retrieves all transaction data being printed. 4. Click Start Service. Additional function on this dialog box: Broadcast Host Information: Allow the POS device to be detected by GV-IP Device Utility. Step 3: Settings on GV-DVR / NVR / VMS Here we use GV-VMS to exemplify the procedures. 1. Click Home > Toolbar > Configure > System Configure > Accessories > POS Device Setup. 5 2. Click the New button. This dialog box appears. Printer Type: Select COM Port or TCP/IP Port depending on the type of connection between GV-DVR / NVR / VMS and the POS device. Device: Select the number of the POS device, and rename if necessary. Mapping Camera: Assign the POS device to a camera screen to display POS data. Filter Setting: Select GVSWPOSCapture. COM Port Settings: Select the COM port on GV-VMS used for RS-232 connection, configure Baud Rate, Data Bits, Parity, and Stop Bits of the POS device. GeoVision Inc. 5 Revision Date: 2018/11/6

6 TPC/IP Port Settings: Type the IP address or domain name of the POS device, the device port and password that was set on the GV-POS SW Capture of the POS device. By default, the device port is Click Add. The POS device is added to GV-VMS. Additional functions available on the Device dialog box: Use Codepage Mapping: This feature is to support the display of special characters and symbols. Text Setup: Change the font and position of the transaction data on the live and recorded images. Source Is Unicode: Select if your source data is Unicode.
