17 8 Table Rollover for Rating Sessions (New) 8.1 Feature Overview As of SP 3, SAP Convergent Charging is enhanced with a new feature to avoid the fragmentation of the Session database Summary In SAP Convergent Charging, charging operations performed using the session-based execution mode lead to the recording of rating session data within the back-end database. In case you implemented the Dual Database feature, your landscape contains the Session database, that is used to store the different data related to the business objects handled by SAP CC during the session-based charging operations. During such operations, different kind of events occur, each event impacting the database table that is used to store the different information related to the rating session. As time goes by, these recurrent impacts may lead to the fragmentation of this database table, that decreases the performances of the Session database, and by extension, the performance of the overall system. Benefits This enhancement gives the possibility to store the rating sessions among a set of destination tables instead of a single one, according to a defined period of time. At the end of this period, the destination of the storage changes, and the previously one is emptied which removes its fragmentation.
