3 1 Overview The Voucher Management System handles all aspects of prepaid recharge vouchers Prepaid payment models form an important part of traditional telecommunications business models especially in developing markets. Significant revenues are also generated from prepaid business models in established markets. The distribution of income across prepaid and post-paid subscriber segments is being disrupted by market forces such as Digital Services with experimental adoption using prepaid models as well as reduced appetite for subscribers to be locked in to long-term contracts. The use of vouchers as a payment resource with associated electronic distribution channel development remains an important revenue generation model for incumbent Communications Service Providers (CSPs) as well as new Digital Service Provider (DSPs). Vouchers can be used as incentive for Digital Service onboarding in instances where customers do not want to be locked and also in instances where the level of trust between the customer and service provider is not yet established. Globetom s Revenue Weaver Voucher Management System provides a comprehensive platform for total care of prepaid voucher lifecycle functions, inclusive of distribution management. With various deployment and associated commercial models, CSPs and DSPs can leverage vouchers as a strategic payment resources using an agile platform delivering tangible business benefits.

4 2 TAM Positioning TM Forum positions vouchers as a payment resource available to service providers A voucher has a unique serial number and a PIN code by which it is identified. The PIN code may be covered, and scratched off in order to use the voucher. Other forms of vouchers include e-vouchers that may have a PIN generated only after activation. Customers can use vouchers to recharge their balances by various methods including contacting the call center and providing the CSR with the voucher or via a self-service system. The application performs automation of the voucher lifecycle, and supports a wide variety of voucher types. Voucher Management also provides encryption, voucher tracking, as well as address fraud and handle various distribution channels. As such, vouchers can be placed on the entire range of the Resources Domain with strong affiliation to the Billing vertical, because of the monetary value of the vouchers.
